Whitsand Bay is in the area described as Cornwall's "forgotten corner". With four miles of sandy beach and hours of endless sunshine, it is the perfect place for rest and relaxation. Freathy is a small, quiet place on the cliffs above Whitsand Bay peppered with little wooden chalets. It sits on the South West Coast Path making it ideal for walkers, trail runners, dog owners and nature lovers.
With its cliffside position, Freathy is a perfect location to enjoy spectacular sunsets, star gazing and storm watching from the comfort of your cosy chalet, even out of season.

There's a small number of parking spaces at the top of the path which are usually easily available out of the main holiday season. During busy times, there is residents' and visitors’ permit parking close by - a parking permit will be provided for your stay.
There is a regular bus service 70A from Freathy Shelter to Plymouth (Royal Parade) via Plymouth railway station and to Cremyll where you can take the passenger ferry to Plymouth. The bus also stops at the View Cafe in Treganhawke, Antony Road Sainsbury's supermarket in Torpoint, Cawsand-Kingsand. Look online for a detailed timetable with all the stops (Freathy Shelter is just called "Shelter" on the timetable and there's only one stop in Freathy so you won't get lost!). The Freathy Shelter bus stop is just at the top of the path opposite the turning towards Field 3, one on each side of the road depending on which direction you want to go, 2 minutes from the house.
Ferries to Roscoff and Santander leave from Plymouth.
Megabus connects Plymouth directly with Bristol Airport.
