This romantic & cozy lake view cabin is located in the small town of Rio Piedras. This is the perfect place to pause on the road between the beaches of Guanacaste, the hot springs of La Fortuna, and the jungles of Monteverde. The cabin is surrounded by trees and open space, which makes it a perfect place to relax and disconnect. It's also a bird watcher's paradise! All types of birds, including white-throated magpie-jays, toucans, and others love to visit us. This spacious property includes an A-frame style cabin with a covered garage, patio, and open-air deck. The first floor of the cabin includes a stocked kitchen with breakfast bar, a private bedroom with a full bathroom & air conditioning, and a comfortable living room with a flat screen tv, sofa bed for two people, and a small chimney. The living room stairs lead up to the cabin's second floor loft. From this height, you will be free to enjoy an expansive view of the lake and surrounding area through the large front windows. The loft is also used as a second bedroom. It includes a bed, a dedicated workspace, and a second full bathroom. Continuing through the loft, you will reach a large open balcony where you can reach out and grab mangos off of the tree when they are in season! Outside, there is a nice covered porch with hammocks to relax and furniture to sit and hang out. There is a beautiful lake view deck with outdoor couches, two lounge chairs and a hot tub (it takes about an hour to warm up and continuos to encrease temperature the longer it runs). we get beautiful sunsets and a very nice view on the hills, lake, and windmills surrounding the area. This is a very quiet, relaxing place to enjoy nature.

Even more beautiful in person… So private, peaceful and right next to the jungle. You can see and hear so many different types of birds… Waking up to the sights and sounds of nature all around you was like paradise. Truly a magical place. The hosts were amazing… So welcoming, friendly and very responsive to any questions. Would love to return and explore more of the neighbourhood and restaurants close by that are in walking distance... The neighbourhood dog was a very welcome surprise. :) Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

What a beautiful house to stay in for our trip to Costa Rica! The size was perfect for 2 people, and had plenty of space to relax, especially outside. Not only were the views amazing, but we loved watching and listening to all the birds around the house each night. On top of that, Wendy was extremely communicative and a very gracious host. We would absolutely stay here again!
The scenery was beautiful and felt like our own little oasis. Be mindful of keeping the windows open or you’ll get friendly visits from the little critters. Other than that, it was a sweet escape
¡Está bellísimo! La descripción y las fotos no le hacen justicia. Disfrutamos la vista panorámica que da durante el amanecer y también el estar completamente inmersos con la naturaleza, escuchar las aves y animales del entorno durante la noche y la mañana es bellísimo. Es importante considerar que será más accesible si se conduce una unidad 4x4 por el camino de terracería. Tras nuestra estadía nos dirigimos hacia la catarata La Leona y en el camino que marcó el mapa pudimos pasar por la estación eólica y fue una experiencia bastante increíble por la dimensión de las turbinas. Wendy estuvo en todo momento en contacto con nosotros y el lugar está impecable. Sus indicaciones nos facilitaron la llegada.

Our small town is very quiet and safe, there are some good restaurants to visit near our house. There are two walking distance grocery stores, a liquor store and two authentic restaurants. If you like going on walks you can go up the hill from our house and you will enjoy beautiful scenic views of the lake and Arenal volcano.
