切斯特(Chester) · 整套出租单元 · 2室3床1.0卫 · 可住3人 · Gingerbread Apartment, Walk Downtown
Welcome to a bird's eye view of Chester from the Gingerbread Apartment. The third floor of this historic 1889 Queen Anne Victorian provides peace and privacy for your stay. The tranquil grounds and expansive wrap around porch removes you from worldly chaos. Downtown Chester is a five minute walk from the space which has private access via an outdoor/indoor staircase which totals 3 flights of stairs. There is plentiful parking on site. There is a bright and sunny kitchenette with a microwave and small refrigerator/freezer as well as a small table for dining. There is a sink and a coffee maker. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. Your bedroom has a queen bed and sloping ceilings- very cozy! The front room looks over town and has a sitting area as well as a queen size futon couch and television. There is also a single bedroom. The space is quirky due to the age and style of the house, but very comfortable and functional. You are welcome to use the porch overlooking town as well as the yard.
My dad and I stayed here and our stay was just perfect! The apartment was very clean and welcoming and had lots of cute and fun mementoes. We were kept warm and cozy with heaters and a mini fireplace on a very cold January weekend!! Karli was also super responsive and we felt comfortable at all times. We were very happy to stay here and we’ll definitely return! Thank you!
If you like old Victorians, which I do, this is a nice place to stay in Chester. My friend and I attended the Norma Terris theatre which is a couple of minutes away. The apartment has an old fashioned feel -- steep roofs, mismatched furniture. The owner is clear about the steps that you climb on the outside of the house to get to the entrance. I really appreciated the extra touches...luggage rack, space heaters, Kleenex, and coffee and granola bars for breakfast. If you don't mind something on the more old fashioned side, this is worth the money.
Great little quaint New England village setting! Older Victorian house with all of the added quirks one would expect in find in a period New England Victorian home. Lots of stairs to the gingerbread rental, which were well lit and easy enough to navigate. Loved the area and had a lovely stay!
Karli’s place in Chester worked well for a reunion with two friends. Karli was very communicative and open. We used the futon as a third bed and that worked out well, despite sacrificing our sitting area! You should be ready for an attic apartment in an older home, and there is no stove or hot plate (The description says this.). Also be sure to look at the picture showing the steep outside staircase to the unit. This was not a problem for us, but is important to be ready for.
This is a quiet, residential street with 2 acre lots and historic homes. It is very safe with a rural feel and a quick walk into town to dine at our award winning restaurants, visit our Sunday Farmer's Markets in season or spend time in the art galleries and shops. If you like waterfalls, dams, and brooks do not miss a hike through this magical town.
