A good experience in a homestay involves feeling welcomed, comfortable, and immersed in the local culture. meaningful interactions with the family, and opportunities to participate in local activities or traditions. Additionally, feeling like part of the family and gaining insights into daily life in the host country are key elements of a positive homestay experience.

My family and I chose to stay at Chitra’s place for my wedding (big day) as we are from out of town. We stayed here 6 months ago and felt that it is in the perfect location with spacious & clean rooms. I must mention that on my big day early morning there was a power cut for about 6 hours which disturbed our wedding preparations, however Chitra’s daughter Sharmilee was kind enough to offer a one night refund so that we could book a hotel room instead for the rest of the wedding preparations. We continued to stay here for the rest of our booking, although we had rough start, since Sharmilee and Chitra showed great empathy in understanding our situation and tried to provide alternate options. The rest of our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The house keeper, Ranjith was also very attentive and available pretty much all the time to address any questions or assistance needed. I would choose here again in my next visit to Chennai and I highly recommend it.

Our two-night stay at this place was exceptional. Chitra was very responsive for all our queries. We were welcomed with a welcome treat. Ranjith, the caretaker, was attentive and friendly, ensuring our comfort throughout. He got us milk from the market as we had arrived late at night. The property was immaculate, well-equipped, and conveniently located. Overall, a five-star experience that we highly recommend.

Chitra's place is ideally located in the heart of Mylapore. It is close to temples, restaurants and concert halls (sabhas). The place has a full kitchen (with utensils) and spacious rooms for guests. Chitra is also extremely friendly and approachable. Chitra also has a housekeeper who can also help in case you need anything. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for someone looking to stay in the heart of Chennai.
