Escape to our very private, peaceful and quiet family cabin perched on a hilltop in the countryside of upstate NY. You'll unplug and watch birds from the porch, hear distant farm animals in the day and the coyotes and owls at night. A nature lovers retreat. There's plenty to do in the area as well. We're just south of the Finger Lakes and wine country, Watkins Glen International and The Gorge, Corning Museum of Glass and Market Street and countless state parks for hiking, biking, boating etc. The cabin is a beautiful modified A-Frame on stilts perched on top of a steep hillside, overlooking the valley and distant hill. Outside, there are 8 acres with a pond (we welcome catch and release fishing!) and trails to walk. The cabin has raised decks on all 4 sides that can be sat on and enjoyed. There is an outdoor dining table on the deck as well as a gas grill. The bird feeders can be filled with seed on-site for endless bird watching. We also have an outdoor fire pit, picnic tables, and lawn games for daytime and nighttime activities. Inside, the cabin is quaint but has everything you might need. There is a bedroom with a queen bed on the downstairs level, this is the only bedroom with it's own A/C. The room stays plenty cool in the summer. There is a loft with a queen and twin bed. The loft has incredible views through the upper vaulted windows. The living room has a couch, loveseat and chairs and is open to the kitchen. It also has a TV with HDMI hookups. The kitchen is small but features two refrigerators that can be used for drinks and food. Their is another A/C in the kitchen window. We do not have an oven but there is a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and gas range. The tap water is drinkable and we have a Brita pitcher in the fridge. The bathroom is VERY small and features a mini sink, toilet and stand-up shower. The cabin interior is fully open with the exception of the bathroom and bedroom. While we have an A/C unit in the bedroom window (which keeps the room very cold) and the kitchen window, it will not cool the entire interior on very hot days. The bedroom will stay plenty cold with the door closed and the kitchen will be moderate. We have 3 additional fans that can be utilized for the loft and living room if necessary on very hot days. Linens and towels provided.
