Rest easy and enjoy the best of Victorian architecture with lofty high ceilings, traditional wall detailing, ornate decorative fireplace, HUGE rooms and towering sash windows that allow summer sunshine to cascade through the apartment. The grandeur of this 1000 square foot apartment lends to a general feeling of tranquility and wellbeing, while including all the necessities for comfortable day to day living. Located on the 1st floor of Athol House the apartment offers two comfortable bedrooms one with a small double bed and one with a kingsize bed, both bedrooms have plenty of storage and hanging space. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, iron, fridge-freezer, pots pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils. The office with door is located off the lounge and is a dedicated work space. The lounge is quite simply a stunning space, housing two sofas, a coffee table and a dining area that seats up to 6. The nautical themed bathroom is a large room with a W/C, hand basin, a rainfall shower, a handheld wash down shower, and a deep full corner bath for some delicious relaxation and recuperation.

I booked this apartment as needed to stay close to Kings College Hospital, due to a family member having surgery. Great location to the hospital, easily within 15 min walking distance. Araminta was extremely helpful when inquiry about the property and gave great suggestions for parking as the majority of roads nearby are for permit holders. The apartment is very spacious and felt like home from home. Clear instructions with pictures to enable me to check-in with ease.
Athol House is located in the incredibly historic and exceptionally vibrant neighbourhood of Brixton; a melting pot of absolutely everything and everyone. From it’s affluent and high society inception, through an ultra cool punk rock and reggae roots era in the 70s-90s, to it’s modern day multiculturalism with heavy Caribean influence Brixton has evolved through the ages, and there really is something for everyone in here.
Local landmarks include the Oval cricket ground and the cutting edge Kings College Hospital.
The iconic Brixton Market is over 140 years old and is known for its diverse array of independent shops, absolute plethora of food stalls and restaurants (Eritrean, Jamaican, Indian, Trinidadian, English, Japanese, Thai, Colombian, Gastro, Fusion, Italian, Chinese, Mexican and high street chains).
Brixton Academy is a famous music venue that has hosted many legendary acts, including The Clash, The Smiths, Madonna rap Superstars and everything in between.
Brixton is also home to the Ritzy Cinema, which first opened its doors in 1911 and is one of the oldest cinemas in London.
The Brixton Windmill is a Grade II listed building and one of the few surviving windmills in London.
David Bowie was born in Brixton and grew up nearby. The mural of Bowie on the side of Morleys department store has become a popular tourist attraction.
Brixton was the birthplace of the Black Cultural Archives, which is the only national heritage center dedicated to preserving the history of African and Caribbean people in Britain.

The apartment is a quick 7 minute walk to Brixton Road, where the number 3 and 159 bus take you straight into Oxford Street in the centre of London, or to Brixton Station. Loughborough Junction Station is located 0.5 miles from the house and is a 10 minute walk, it has local and national overground services. Brixton Station (Victoria Line) is part of London’s Underground network and connects into Central London in under 14 minutes.
