Our night in Jason’s self-built boathouse was magical! The cozy space he crafted was spotless and warm, we even got to witness the Northern Lights right from our bed! Jason’s hospitality was outstanding - he drove us there, showed us around, and accommodated all our needs with a smile. Staying at his boathouse was an absolute dream! If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable Airbnb experience, look no further than Jason’s boathouse!

Jason’s place is totally amazing and such peaceful It’s the best place to disconnect from town life and connect with nature such as the auroras, if you wanna live the northern lights dream right from the bed or the patio this is the place to go ! Jason was an amazing host , friendly always there if you need anything! We had the most amazing trip Only thing is the shower but you’ll forget fast when you gonna live this life. Right by the ice road easy to access the town services too ! Would recommend at 200% ! We will come back for sure

This cosy cabin appears to be a place right out of a fairy tale. Gorgeous views of a frozen lake through floor-to-ceiling windows, warm inside despite the -20 Celsius temperatures outside, and a great way to view the aurora (very little light pollution at this part of the Great Slave Lake; easy to pop indoors to warm up; and the opportunity to snowshoe across to Tin Can Hill for a more elevated lookout). Off-grid living on a lake is a quintessential northern experience. You can't take a shower when you're here as that would generate too much greywater, but if you have a car you can drive to the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool for a daily shower, or you can just bear with it (part of the experience!). Jason was a great host! He fetched us from the airport when we had a flight that ended late, after the car reservation counters had closed, and was helpful with recommendations about where to eat locally, and also met us the next day to give us stuff we had left behind in the fridge. Thank you!

You can see the northern light from this cabin and the view from this cabin is spectacular. The only downside of this house is the lack of shower.

I’ve been on Airbnb for a while but I want to start with saying, Jason is by far the best host we’ve encountered. Just like many before me have snared, the Airbnb is authentic, and exactly as described, no surprises including the pics of the Aurora. The houseboat is beautifully constructed, maintained and made like home. The joy of being is this place is hard to describe. Amazing location with great short walks to YK sights that we thoroughly enjoyed. Beautiful location, feels off the grid (so prepare), but with the advantage of phone connectivity and Wi-Fi. We couldn’t have found a better place in YK for what we came here to do. The houseboat is awesome for sure, and is like some rare airbnbs are that you will remember forever, but it’ll be a mistake not to mention that one probably won’t meet a host like Jason very often either.
