We had a truly peaceful stay in this beautiful place. Sally sent clear instructions ahead of our stay so we knew where to go when we arrived along with providing other really useful information. We ate at the pub opposite which was also dog friendly, had some delicious food. Met a few of the locals who were really welcoming. Lovely dog walks on the doorstep, we were so lucky with the weather too!
Really lovely place, right next to the Angel pub which I cannot recommend highly enough. Superb food and ale. Our first stay away from our kids in 20yrs and worth every praise. So glad we chose Sally’s place. Will definitely stay again.
Everything was perfect , like new , clean and tidy and very homely . Beautiful location .
We were very happy with Sallys place. Lovely and cosy with a homely feel. Comfy bed with quality linens. It was perfectly situated for touring the area. We visited many different places and the immediate area itself had lovely walks. The scenery from the window was amazing. Very quiet and peaceful for a relaxing stay. We would highly recommend this perfect holiday hideaway.
Sally's place was perfect for what we needed, a cosy hideaway for the weekend. really well equipped and lovely decoration. The bed was SO comfortable.

It was a life-style choice which brought us to rural Monmouthshire in 2012 and the two year-long project to restore a derelict Grade II-listed former pub at the heart of this thriving village. The search to find this village was long but the choice was right; it is a truly special place, full of genuinely interesting and friendly people whose community spirit is inspiring and infectious. As a family, we also have lifelong connections to Italy and we own a second home in Preggio, a hill-top medieval village in Umbria; we share our time between the two. Fuelled by my passion for both Italy and Italian food, here at home in Wales, I am also beginning a food business called ‘La Cucina at Grosmont’ specialising in Italian ‘pasticceria’. Moving to Grosmont and owning a home in Umbria were two decisions which changed our lives and we now hope that by embracing the Airbnb community we are able to offer our guests a taste of the places we love to call home.
