Beautiful coastal beach house, great for the dogs. Great views, walks and a cracking thunderstorm across the bay one night which we could see for miles across the Channel.
A great place to relax and unwind. We chose this home for the location and we weren’t disappointed. We were able to walk straight onto the beach and also listen to the waves when we were in bed at night. The whole house was spotlessly clean and the description was very accurate. The master bedroom was incredible with a view straight out over the sea. The king size bed was firm but very comfortable. For me personally I would have preferred a better quality pillow but that’s being very picky. Sonia was a pleasure to work with and even offered an early check in. I would thoroughly recommend this property.

The overall stay was absolutely amazing! The location is beautiful and the house and the interior was perfect! Sonia was amazing to deal with and was extremely helpful and very accommodating. The only issue is that the upstairs bedroom, as stunning as it is, had blinds only on partial windows, which means that if you are planning to wake up anytime after 6am, you are not going to be able to as the sun and light is beaming into the room. With that final, but important touch, we would easily choose to come back here! Thank you for everything again!
Beautiful property and location, overlooking the beach. A few learnings during and after the stay. On the first night, there was a technical issue with the thermostat and underfloor heating. It was extremely cold overnight. Host offered to send someone over if issue didn’t resolve itself the next day - which it did. Central heating is upstairs only, which isn’t specified on the ad. The en suite is open plan. The inside of shower and WC can be seen by onlookers from the beach. We decided check out a day earlier for personal reasons. We didn’t manage to clean every corner, which we apologised for and absorbed additional cleaning costs. We were however invoiced for pre existing issues within the property. Host refused to provide before / after evidence. We absorbed the cost, as it was cheaper than time lost disputing. Overall, for the most part, we enjoyed our stay. A tip for guests: take photos before/after. Request detailed house rules in writing to avoid any miscommunication.

To the west of 1066 country stands Pevensey Bay on the coast. Pevensey Bay is famously known as William of Normandy's landing place in 1066. Pevensey Bay is an old fishing village founded in the 1600's as Wallsend, the end of the sea wall from Eastbourne.
Pevensey village is located on a ridge of land, which juts out onto marshland and until the 13th Century the marshes were an inlet of the sea. Over time the large bay was gradually cut off from the sea by shingle and today the marshes known as Pevensey Levels, a large nature reserve, stretches for miles behind the shingle beach.
Several Martello towers were erected along the bay at the beginning of the 19th century against Napoleonic attack.
In the early 1900's the village became a holiday resort it is today with much of the coastline development started in the 1930's. Today it is a popular tourist attraction with the nearby historical Pevensey Castle.
Pevensey Bay is well known today to all sailing enthusiasts. The local sailing club offers a variety of classes of boats and has a full programme of racing. The inspiring 31-mile 1066 Country Walk starts at Pevensey Castle, winds its way to Herstmonceux and through to Battle.
