Welcome to Oceanfront Bungaloha, the newly rebuilt bungalow on the island’s best snorkeling spot, with breathtaking views of the sea life and coastline right in front of you. This 2023 newly remodeled/rebuilt home sits right on the coast (unobstructed oceanfront), with an enormous lanai/deck where you can watch whales breach and dolphins play directly in front of you, or look down the breathtaking coastline that stretches out to the side as if laid out perfectly for your enjoyment. This hip new bungalow is the closest house to what is considered the island’s best snorkeling and scuba diving spot, where you can swim, use the home’s kayaks, or even watch the brightly-colored fish while sitting on the rocks. This fully furnished home has high, vaulted ceilings and open beams in the Polynesian tradition paired with a current decorating style and white, bright decor. Both bedrooms’ doors can slide open to disappear into the walls whenever you want that whole-house-open flow of a bungalow. Though there are two bathrooms (each with a shower) inside, you might opt to use the additional outdoor shower right on the coast. The island’s fastest Wi-Fi possible (High-Speed Fiber 500 Mbps) is available as you log into your usual streaming accounts on the new big-screen TV. The home is situated off the beaten path in a less touristy area and is absolutely oceanfront on Papa Bay, Miloli'i. Oceanfront “Bungaloha” (where Bungalow + Aloha combine) is unique in comparison to other oceanfront homes in the area in that it is the farthest north of the oceanfront properties, making it closest to Papa Bay Cove and closest to the easiest water access (someone has even mounted a railing to help swimmers as they dip into the most popular snorkeling spot). The location is truly a hidden gem and a diver's paradise (for a sneak preview of the magnificent undersea world directly in front of our beach house, find/visit the "atdarock" website of underwater photos). Bungaloha is also located near an ancient Hawaiian fishing village and private beaches. Miloli’i is famous for being “the last fishing village in Hawaii”, and it is truly the most traditional fishing village in all of Hawaii (you can see this in action at its southern end), known for having the best canoe carving in all of Hawaii. Hike Miloli’i’s ancient “King” coastal trails and visit ruins on your way to a secluded white sand beach. On your hike past tide pools and ancient ruins, find the house where Elvis Presley lived in 1962 while his movie "Girls Girls Girls" was filmed right here in Miloli’i. Oceanfront Bungaloha is not located in a condensed resort area but rather in rural South Kona amid lava tubes, coffee farms, ideal stargazing, and an unparalleled ocean paradise. The property and location appeal to ecotourists and adventure-seeking individuals. The home is 12 miles (approximately 40-minute drive) to the nearest restaurants and shopping, 40 miles south of Kailua-Kona town, and a one-hour drive to Volcano Village. The nearest airport is Kailua-Kona (KOA) (44.7 miles away), though Waimea-Kohala (MUE) (74 miles away) and Hilo (ITO) (94 miles away) are also available. This remote and private hideaway provides a quiet retreat to “get away from it all” and submerse yourself in Hawaii’s island paradise. Book now to secure your stay at Oceanfront Bungaloha in Kona.
Beautifully decorated, secluded home. Hosts were very organized and communicative. Only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.
Location wasn't the best it was about an hour from everything and the road down to the bungalow was really curvy and rough. Definitely get a 4 wheel drive car or it'll be very challenging. The bungalow was very nice and clean. The view was beautiful, but because of location and no a/c we probably wouldnt stay there again.
Beautiful renovation, lots of ceiling fans so it was never too hot. Kitchen well set up and Labels! Great view off the porch. Loved seeing dolphins in the bay. Walking distance to ocean entry. What can I say, it was great!
This place is great if you want to just chill and enjoy Hawaii - which is what we did. Buy food en route and enjoy your time. The close fishing village beach is worth the little hike. Just park near the boat ramp and not near the little park. That hidden gem of a beach is 100% worth it! We were able to snorkel there and enjoy a shaded beach all to ourselves.
This was probably the most beautiful AirBnB I have ever stayed at. My dad lives on the Big Island and is experiencing some serious health issues, so my fiance and I decided to host a very tiny wedding ceremony with my family and a few friends there before his health gets too bad. Jenny was so accommodating of this request, and we were able to get the most magical photos at her place. I couldn't have imagined a better fairytale and will cherish it always. Thank you so much for offering this little slice of heaven right on the water in Miloli'i!
Oceanfront Bungaloha is located in the Private Community of Miloli'i Beach Club Association. There is an ungated community entrance that connects the private community to a public street. There is an ecological garden next door to the home and a nearby natural/rugged-style park.
