Wonderful spot with a secluded feel and beautiful views. the owners of the cabin left a nice welcome letter. It had been renovated in the bathroom with heated floors and that was definitely very welcomed. It was unfortunate that they did not provide check out details in writing. Since there was no Wi-Fi, we had no clue what we were supposed to do and had to assume the checkout time was 11:00 because we had no way to find out. They were no maps or local information and we had no idea that we could get somewhere and get information and didn't really want to just go driving around since we knew there was no signal for GPS for quite a while. They also left us two very used sponges and almost no dishwashing soap. We were provided less than a quarter roll of paper towels, which we ran out of pretty quickly. the door handle on the bathroom fell off and the toilet rocks when you sit down. These were all fairly minor issues overall, but frustrating.
In the winter nothing close to the cabin is open. There is a TV but no DVD player or any way to use the TV, there wasn’t even batteries in the remote. If you get easily spooked, I wouldn’t suggest this place. I was staying with my sister and we are two younger girls. We ended up leaving the first night because we got pretty spooked. There is no service until you have driven in either direction for 30+ minutes and no landline in the house. With the remoteness of the cabin, no one and nothing near by we just didn’t feel safe with the no WiFi, no service, and no landline.
This is a fabulous property in an absolutely gorgeous location. The hosts are amazing and communicated with us before we arrived to let us know about accessing the property. The house is beautiful, with privacy and views of the Matanuska glacier right out the window. Everything was clean and neat. Close to some great hiking trails and other sightseeing experiences.
We had a stay filled with highs and lows at this Glacier View property. On the high side, the location is breathtaking. The sight of the glacier from our kitchen table every morning was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we won’t soon forget. However, the stay was marred by some issues. We were disappointed to find the bed unclean, complete with hairs that weren’t ours. Contacting the owner for resolution proved to be a challenge as they were not very responsive. It’s also worth noting that there is no WiFi or hairdryer. While these amenities (or lack thereof) were clearly stated in the property description—hopefully in bold for future guests—it did add a layer of inconvenience to our stay. All in all, the location and views are unbeatable, but some attention to detail and responsiveness could make this property truly exceptional.
