We had a peaceful, cosy and relaxing stay at Acorn Cottage. The location is gorgeous and tranquil.I don’t think we have ever been somewhere that has no light pollution. It is properly dark at night. (A torch is a must.) We discovered there were some beautiful walks from the cottage itself. The quarry in particular was lovely. We visited Coniston every day which was only a 5 ish minute drive away. Just a couple of things to be aware of; the garden is shared with the cottage next door, so we had to make sure our dog stayed on ‘our’ side. We did have to replace the wood we used, it would perhaps have been good to have had an option to have wood added to the bill at the start. But it’s no big deal. Wi-fi is pretty non existent, that was fine for us, it was quite nice to have a break from it! The beds were soft and comfy. We would love to stay again. It was good to be somewhere away from it all.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, very quiet and peaceful surroundings and close enough to coniston so you can still get a dinner and the pub, Will definitely be back
