Charlie’s Hut sits in the heart of our woodland offering immersive sounds of wildlife, privacy and a relaxing experience. From the luxury of the cosy cabin, you can enjoy a dining experience inside the Hut or step outside and dine amongst the nature of the woodland. Enjoy a BBQ / Fire pit in the summer air or take comfort during the colder months. Charlie’s Hut is a spa suite in the woods, featuring a Hot Tub, an outdoor bath which can also be used as a cold plunge & has a wood burning Sauna. Charlie’s hut is modern and offers a relaxing stay for all guests. OUTDOOR FIREPIT / BBQ: The hut has a seating area with a fire pit. We provide one bag of complementary logs for your stay which is set up on the firepit before your arrival, guests bring their own firelighters & charcoal. INSIDE THE HUT: The Hut has a modern fully fitted kitchen & bathroom. The bathroom has a toilet, fresh towels & a modern shower; whilst the kitchen features a gas cooker, small fridge, seating area with a dining table, heating, combi-microwave, kettle & toaster. OUTSIDE OF THE HUT: Enjoy the relaxation of the woods while you sit in the Hot Tub or have an outdoor bath outside with bubble bath & bath salts provided. There is also cold running water for the bath if you’d like a cold water plunge before your Sauna. SAUNA: A basket of firelighters, sticks & logs are inside the Hut for you to take over to the wood burning Sauna. Please note that the Sauna takes 50 mins - 1 hour to heat to full temperature. This is an exciting experience for you to prepare the Sauna for your own use! Dogs are welcome at £15 per stay 🐶

Lovely place for anyone looking for peace & quiet with a spa experience thrown in. We’ve came back chilled and relaxed, wishing we had booked a few more nights.
Loved our stay! We had such a relaxing weekend enjoying local walks, great food at the Owl and the Otter pub and of course the lovely bath! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to escape and relax!

The Hut is located on our private, family run farm so you can expect privacy and peaceful surrounding.
For guests who enjoy exploring, there are very pleasant walks / cycle paths around the Derwent Valley. Starting from the Hut you will pass Hamsterley Hall & land on the tree-lined walk which skirts Hamsterley Mill & Hamsterley & reveals panoramic views north across the valley from strategic viewing places.
Close to us, Pontburn Woods, represents one of the Derwent Valley's largest remaining areas of deciduous woodland & is Popular with locals who enjoy good access via a comprehensive path network.
4 miles from us, Chopwell Woodland Park offers 3 different trails to choose from. At 7km, the Boundary walk is the most challenging of their trails, the Old Railway Footpath will take you on a moderate walk on forest tracks or take the Easy Access trail for a short circular walk suitable for all.
For those wanting to go to the cinema or shopping, the metro centre is around 7 miles from us, Durham city centre is around 11 miles from us and Newcastle city centre is approximately 9 miles from us.
