Get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy peace and serenity in this vintage 2/1 home just across the road from the Indian River. It’s like living in the country yet only two miles to stores and restaurants. Enjoy your morning coffee on our private dock as birds take flight and dolphins swim by searching for their morning meal. Just a few miles to Cocoa Village and the USAA stadium, and less than an hour to the Orlando Airport, Kennedy Space Center, and Mickey Mouse!` We’re set on three partially wooded acres with just a few small residences. The duplex is the easternmost building and provides a panoramic view of the Indian River Lagoon. All the structures were built in 1948 and used as a fishing camp. Rustic chic, with original knotty pine ceilings and old fashioned archways, the rooms are not large, but the place feels cozy, and we’ve furnished it with comfort in mind.
We instantly fell in love with everything about this place. The owners were so kind and helpful, probably the friendliest hosts we’ve ever met which made our stay 100 times better. We have every intention of staying again and highly recommend others to as well.
Kat's place is magical. The photos do not do it a justice. It is much more beautiful, and serene but I believe this cannot be communicated through the photos. My family loved it here. It is a hidden peace of paradise in Florida's concrete jungles. It is pristine clean and you have everything you need for a stay to feel like home. To be honest, better than home. Thank you Kat, for sharing this place, providing this place to us the guests from Airbnb.
Staying at Kat’s place was amazing! The neighborhood and scenery was very beautiful and peaceful. The house was comfortable and we felt right at home. We would definitely stay again! Ps. Be sure to check out Mrs. Mango & Company located behind the house. It’s a local gem!
We LOVED staying at Kat’s place! It was clean and had all of the necessities we needed plus some extra :) The view was GORGEOUS! We walked to the pier and saw a lot of dolphins! We also walked to Mrs. Mango’s to see the animals and look around the unique shop. Great place to see beautiful sunrises!
If you are looking for an “old Florida” vibe, this is the place. Clean, comfortable, and convenient—this 1940’s fish camp has been renovated with style! Coffee at sunrise on the dock while watching for dolphins or osprey was a great start to our day. We enjoyed walking and biking on Rockledge Drive, whether north to Cocoa or south to Rockledge, the Indian River is beautiful. In true camp style we were able to grill dinners and even relax by the fire one evening. Watching 3 rocket launches from the dock made our stay even more memorable. Kat and Tony were excellent hosts. Thanks for a great time!
This is a safe, upscale neighborhood with a lot of history and an eclectic mix of homes along the river. No two houses are alike, and it’s a veritable feast of architectural styles and eras all mixed together. One could see a McMansion right next door to a cottage from the early 1900’s. Our speed limit is 25mph, and the road extends 6.5 miles, from US-1 to the south of us, to Cocoa Village, four miles to our north. Lined with 100-year-old oaks, it’s considered one of the most beautiful areas in Brevard County. You’ll see lots of walkers and bikers, and marathons are held along this road every year. People are pretty friendly, so if you say hi, the great majority will say hi back. It can be fairly easy to strike up a conversation.
You’ll need a vehicle because this county extends 72 miles north and south and is over 26 miles wide. But we have plenty of taxis and Uber as well as SCAT buses (Space Coast Area Transit), that will take you just about anywhere in the county you’d like to go. The nearest stop is two miles north of us on US-1. It’s only two miles from our place to Publix & Aldi’s and numerous fast food places & restaurants. Parking is easy, and traffic is usually fairly light.

My husband, Tony and I are friendly, accepting, and easygoing. Tony’s an avid golfer and I like to read, garden, and bake. We both love to travel. We’re both transplants from different states but love Florida and have lived here for 35+ years. I’m a night person, and Tony’s a day person. Opposites attract, and sometimes we pass like ships in the night, but it works because we tether our boats to the same dock.
