Thank you, Ingrid and Donovan, for your very warm welcome into your Airbnb. You were great hosts and had lots of suggestions about day trips in the area. Beaches, Lakes, historical towns - there's so much to see. Our stay was incredible, and we wish we'd have had more time to stay longer. The interior of the house is furnished very tasteful, and the surrounding gardens and forests complete the relaxing and inspiring atmosphere. We were lucky to be able to use the kayaks for a little excursion up the river, dressed in beautiful fall colours. You can start right off a dock that's on their property. We'll definitely come back for the farm fresh eggs, Ingrid's delicious cooking and the most comfortable bed and sheets we've had in a while.
Upper Clyde River is situated between the towns of Shelburne and Barrington. This natural treasure is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for tranquility while you explore the idyllic landscape and towns on Nova Scotia’s south shore.
This is an ideal place to stay for those interested in hiking, kayaking or canoeing, biking or appreciating nature.
Bonny on the Clyde is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People, and we acknowledge them as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land.
This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet), and Passamaquoddy Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725. The treaties did not deal with the surrender of lands and resources but in fact, recognized Mi’kmaq and Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet) title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations. We are all Treaty people.
Mi’kma’ki includes all of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, part of New Brunswick, the Gaspé region of Quebec, part of Maine, and southwestern Newfoundland.
You will need a vehicle to get around. We have parking.

Welcome! Donovan and I moved from downtown Montréal to an old farmhouse with oodles of charm on the Clyde River to establish a sanctuary. We set about building a place in step with nature where one can explore and restore. There’s lots to do: swim, hike, bike, immerse yourself in nature, gaze at the stars or scream into the void…..Come enjoy a morning coffee by the river or a drink on the veranda in the setting sun; you won’t be disappointed.
