We had a great time at this lovely home. The host are very generous and lovely to speak with. The food was amazing, comfortable beds, beautiful property, well worth a visit. Highly recommend! All the best
What a beautiful peaceful, magical piece of heaven this property is. Following the path to see the riverside sunset was beautiful and enjoying our morning pot of tea down by the river on the dock was such a great way to start the day! The sounds of the river rapids was heavenly when relaxing on their front porch and going to sleep at night (The bed was super comfy) Watching the chickens and hummingbirds and seeing their personalities was so entertaining. We also explored the nearby trails on our Side by Side which was great too! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious which we enjoyed out on the screened in porch each morning. It included a big pot of tea, orange juice, bacon, fried potatoes along with Fresh eggs provided by their chickens, blackberries which were harvested on the property and a freshly baked carrot cake loaf. Yum! This was our first B&B experience and Ingrid and Donovan were excellent hosts. They made us feel right at home. We would go back again for sure!
Extraordinary! Do not miss the chance to experience this beautifully restored mid-17th-century farmhouse just a short drive from Yarmouth and Shelburne. After a warm reception by Ingrid and Donovan, settle into your comfortable room and then enjoy all that is offered on this 26-acre property. With its expansive gardens, varieties of hens, beehives, maple trees, nearby farms, and local seafood catch, Ingrid’s exquisite farm-to-table cuisine is reason enough to visit. The soft bedding and sound of the nearby river are the perfect backdrop for a long, restful night of sleep. Wake to the smell of fresh coffee and start your day with a delicious breakfast. During the day, kayak or paddleboard along the tranquil river or meander through the many trails on foot, and end it gazing into the dark night sky. On the weekend enjoy the local farmer's markets and events in the nearby towns or pack a picnic lunch from the kitchen before spending the day on any of the many nearby beaches.
Upper Clyde River is situated between the towns of Shelburne and Barrington. This natural treasure is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for tranquility while you explore the idyllic landscape and towns on Nova Scotia’s south shore.
This is an ideal place to stay for those interested in hiking, kayaking or canoeing, biking or appreciating nature.
Bonny on the Clyde is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People, and we acknowledge them as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land.
This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet), and Passamaquoddy Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725. The treaties did not deal with the surrender of lands and resources but in fact, recognized Mi’kmaq and Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet) title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations. We are all Treaty people.
Mi’kma’ki includes all of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, part of New Brunswick, the Gaspé region of Quebec, part of Maine, and southwestern Newfoundland.
You will need a vehicle to get around. We have parking.

Welcome! Donovan and I moved from downtown Montréal to an old farmhouse with oodles of charm on the Clyde River to establish a sanctuary. We set about building a place in step with nature where one can explore and restore. There’s lots to do: swim, hike, bike, immerse yourself in nature, gaze at the stars or scream into the void…..Come enjoy a morning coffee by the river or a drink on the veranda in the setting sun; you won’t be disappointed.
