TLDR: Beautiful cabin, beautiful setting, fabulous hosts. We loved our stay at Sugarbear Lodge. The space was great for my wife and I, our two young kids, and my wife’s parents. The cabin is well-appointed, clean, cozy, and sits right on the river in a picturesque valley. Truly an escape. The cabin also is just a short drive to the historic town of Weaverville, where we were able to easily grab all of the necessities and visit the shops and restaurants in town. Andy and Kim’s helpful recommendations for things to do in Weaverville never steered us wrong. Andy and Kim were terrific hosts. Leading up to our arrival, they proactively reached out to make sure we had clear directions to get there, and to offer recommendations for local activities. Andy set my father-in-law and I up with a terrific fishing guide who put both of us on our first steelhead! And they were both highly responsive and friendly with the few questions we had during our stay. Thank you Andy and Kim! We’ll be back!

We had an amazing stay at Andy’s cabin. Amazing scenery. Beautiful home with a unique design and high ceilings. Comfortable. Full of amenities. We felt right at home and shared many good times. Will come back here again for sure!

Never had done Airbnb before. The whole experience was positive. Place was clean and as advertised. Catching fish right off the deck was fantastic. Area was perfect for us. Quiet and peaceful. Would definitely come back.

Andy was the absolute pinnacle of a gracious host. Very welcoming, prompt communication, tons of great recommendations. They provided detailed instructions down to which app to use to get there safely. The setting was spectacular. You could truly see fish right from the deck. We would watch massive steelhead, salmon and trout swim by which was a real treat for the whole family. It was a great spot to fish from too. Though we only got nibbles and didn’t land anything from there. Andy did however make some really excellent recommendations on other local places to fish and we landed a couple trout and a baby steelhead. Sugar bear lodge was a fantastic getaway and the kids are already asking when can we go back. Andy was easily amongst the best hosts I’ve worked with through Airbnb.

Andy's place was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Communication was excellent and the location was lovely. We would highly recommend this property for anyone staying in the area!
