Relaxing updated historic home walkable to downtown. This spacious house has everything you need to feel at home while you visit charming Putney! There is a small horse barn on the abutting property, making for a beautiful view! The home offers a large eat-in kitchen, fully stocked for cooking, and large dining room. In the living room, you'll find refinished hardwood floors, comfortable couches, and a large screen TV with cable and Chromecast. The 4 bedrooms have brand new mattresses, high quality sheets, and alternative down comforters to stay cozy. All 3 full baths are recently renovated and equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and of course high quality towels. Large yard offers a fire pit, picnic table, and ample space for parking. The back deck has a table to seat 4 and umbrella.

Absolutely loved this stay. This is a great example of classic Vermont in every way. Rebecca was very kind, great communicator and quite accommodating. So many thoughtful touches. This worked well for extended family. The sidewalks made it easy to walk into town.
Our family of seven just spent a wonderful week at Rebecca’s historic house in Putney, Vermont. I can only echo the previous reviewers who are spot on when describing what a gorgeous, cool, and comfortable accommodation this is. The historic ambience, the spacious bedrooms with supremely comfortable beds, the surrounding grounds, the fire pit, and the walk to town convenience can’t be beat. To say that Rebecca is a Superhost is an understatement. She made us feel truly at home the moment we arrived. From the welcoming bottle of wine to the fresh eggs from her chickens that she brought us one morning, Rebecca is the tops! We can’t wait for our return. John & Nicole North Salem, NY

We stayed here over the President's Day Holiday weekend. we had 7 people total from two families. We visited Landmark College and we also drove to Mount Snow (45 minutes) each day to ski. The rooms were well set up to accommodate families and the beds were comfortable. The property was exactly as advertised, the photos were completely accurate, the house was spotless and the host(ess) Rebecca was amazingly responsive. The Kitchen appears to have been recently renovated and it is superb. If you eat out you will want to head to Brattleboro as there are very limited options in Putney. The only issues we encountered were water pressure that was a bit below average and a noisy furnace. If you consider that the house is 200+ years old this should not be a big surprise. The furnace issue was clearly described and for us, it did not affect our satisfaction. Overall, a very good experience and we highly recommend staying here.

Just across the street is a dirt road lined by beautiful wetland perfect for a nature walk - you might see beavers, turtles, deer, turkeys, and tons of bird species!
Walk downtown to the General Store for groceries and a sandwich, or across the street to Hidden Springs Maple for a maple creamie in the warmer months!
