The home was lovely and very comfortable with all rooms and bathrooms in excellent condition. Our stay was quite enjoyable and we were surprised about the tranquility of the location - we saw otter, swans, geese, a heron, and beautiful sunsets. We highly recommend this stay as it was a memorable part of our trip to Michigan!

I stayed at Laura's place for an extended work stay and it's a great place to stay! I was able to come back after working all day and relax because the house is homey: cozy and comfortable, but there's plenty of space. Plenty of cookware in the kitchen for any kind of cooking. Comfortable bed and pillows with soft flannel sheets that were a wonderful surprise in the dead of winter. Nice towels - large, soft and in great shape. Lots of thoughtful details throughout. The view out the back of the river was spectacular, even in the winter. It was nice to watch the swans and ducks and squirrels. The view in the summer would be amazing with the two level deck. And Laura was an extremely responsive and attentive host. Proactive with watching the winter weather for outdoor safety and helpful with anything I needed. I'd absolutely come back for a summer weekend getaway, as well as another work stay. Highly recommended!

This home was lovely! We enjoyed having our morning in the kitchen and watching the swans and ducks on the river! Great amenities! Would definitely return to this home when visiting family in the area.

We have comfortably stayed at the original River Retreat a couple of times as it always has had the feel of being our home away from home. We were excited to have the opportunity to go a few steps west and spend some time at the River Retreat West. We were not disappointed! We now consider this a second home away from home! This house is in an ideal location and offers an awesome stay if you appreciate a comfortable bed to sleep in, relaxing couches for lounging in front of the television, as well as plenty of other rooms to hang out in. The beautiful new decks are pretty cool for viewing the river, too!
