Great comfort and great fun await at this real log cabin in Soda Springs! Traditional log cabin style with a modern, open floor plan. High ceilings. One bedroom downstairs for the adults with awesome Queen bed, great sheets and comforter and alpaca wool blanket. Large upstairs bunk room with four twins + one full bed. 2 bathrooms: the downstairs bathroom has a shower only, and bathtub & shower in the upstairs bathroom. Very well-stocked kitchen with blender, dutch oven, espresso machine + Bunn speed pourover style coffee machine. Very well-stocked kitchen with gas stove, dishwasher, Ninja blender, cast-iron dutch oven, Cuckoo rice maker with fast pressure cooking, DeLonghi espresso machine & Capresso grinder & Bunn pour over style coffee machine. Great for cooking real meals over holidays and hanging out together after a day of skiing, biking, swimming etc. Nest controlled gas central heat and a wood stove.

The neighborhood is walkable and there are always young kids on bikes, hosting lemonade stands in summer or playing in the snow in winter. There is room to park two cars at the house: one in the garage and one on the driveway.
There is a gas and convenience station one minute away; a general store, ski rentals and other services five minutes away off the Soda Springs exit; and pretty much everything else you could need can be found 15 minutes from the house in Truckee including great restaurants, bars, and shops. Staying from Truckee & west will save you very large amounts of time, especially if the roads are bad or it is a summer holiday. We strongly recommend skiing at Sugar Bowl, only 10 minutes away to the Gondola; and perhaps mixing in one day at Northstar or Palisades if you have a longer trip.
The neighborhood was started by snowmobile enthusiasts and offers access to very extensive backcountry snowmobiling winter and spring, and ATV/Side-by-side trails during summer and early fall. The host does not have or use these vehicles so you are advised to do your own research if you plan to do these activities. if you brought them on a trailer, the flat driveway is good for parking a truck or suv with a small towing trailer.
