Location, location, location... Casa Moonshine is newly built home located 1/2 block from the beach directly behind Chico's Beach Club. Furnished with traditional Mexican style decor. Downstairs has a 1/2 bath, couch, sitting area, island bar and an open kitchen that is well equipped with cooking utensils. Upstairs is the main bedroom, full bath and the shower. Fitted with a king and a single bed with mosquito nets when needed. Perfect for a couple and a child. WI-FI is on its way.
We found Casa Moonshine to be a very special place nestled in the jungle but mere footsteps to the beach. It was our first time in Yelapa and it literally took our breathe away. We were greeted by our host only moments after arrival and found the casa to be even prettier than we expected, clean, spacious and an amazing place to wake up in the morning. Bugs were not an issue whatsoever and the locals were some of the friendliest people we met in Mexico. Highly recommend Chicos and the Yacht club for dinner and drinks and the folks at the deposito were a hoot. Can't wait to return! Thank you so much Celene and Allan for an amazing stay.
Beautiful jungle house near the best beach club in Yelapa. Host was attentive, helpful and nice. This felt like 5 star service. If you are booking, please understand that this is an open-air hose. Because the windows don't close you may have a few bugs around... And maybe a mooring visit on the ledge from a wild parrot. :) A great adventure is waiting for you.
Loved this casa! Colorful, clean, close to the beach, jungle glamping! Hosts very kind, amazing house! Bring ear-plugs, the jungle and foot traffic can be loud, we had read this and followed suite so sleeping was no problem, Such a beautiful place, highly recommend.
This is a cute little place. However, it’s infested with spiders. We were welcomed by dead spiders everywhere. We stopped counting at 20 on one single seating area. We expected some bugs, as there are no windows. We woke up every morning to spider webs covering the staircase. The staircase itself is so steep going down that it would be a hazard for children or elderly folks. The hot water is lukewarm at best, and was miserable to tolerate in the morning. We had to purchase many common household staples (cleaning products, paper towels, water, cans of Raid) because the kitchen was in a deficit. We also had to clean the entire home before we could get settled. It has potential, but certainly devoid of all the basic creature comforts we were hoping for.
Yelapa's tranquillity is ideal for those looking to for that entirely laid-back vacation. The beach is covered in a blanket of golden sand, and is a superb place to swim, snorkel, or parasail. If you are not that energetic you can just relax in one of the numerous beach chairs, soak up the sun, and enjoy a cold drink.
You can not drive to Yelapa. You must take a water taxi. There are two spots that the water taxis depart from. The closest to the airport is Los Muertos pier in PV. If you tell any taxi driver to take you to Los Muertos Pier for Yelapa they will know where to take you. It is about a 50 minute boat ride from this departure and 370 peso’s per person, round trip.
The second option is from Boca de Tomatlan which is about 30 minutes south of PV by taxi past Los Muertos Pier. It is a little cheaper from Boca but I would caution those that get car sick as it is a windy road to get to Boca. It is 90 pesos per person each way.
