Stayed a week at the cabin at the end of Aug before Labor Day- 3 adults- for a nature getaway and space to unplug. The photos don’t do this place justice. The views were beautiful. The house was very cute and well appointed, albeit a bit older, it definitely lended to the cabins charm. When you wake up in the bedrooms all you see is water. We used the fire pit a few nights which was fun and so easy - definitely added to the vibe. The kayaks and canoes were right there in the boat house under the main house and easily accessible. It was very private also and we rarely saw the neighbors. There are so many wineries breweries and distilleries just on the main road that we couldn’t get to them all even in a week. Definitely would return— as a couple or w friends or w kids. They would love exploring this place and the woods around.

We really enjoyed our stay! The location right on the water was amazing. We loved relaxing on the porch and on the dock at all times of the day. It was so nice to be able to swim, float and kayak right from the house. Having use of everything in the boat house was super convenient. The lake house had everything you could need in the kitchen and three bathrooms. The DVD collection and all of the games were perfect for a lot of laughs and family time. We were close to so many excellent dining options and highly rated wineries, breweries and a distillery. The location also leaves you poised to explore around the whole lake. We took trips to Ithaca, outlets, women’s history museums, and area state parks. We were sad to leave and hope to return to Hector Hideaway in the future! Leslie is an excellent host!

This place was amazing for a family get away with a toddler. The deck creates the perfect space for a little non-swimmer. The porch was amazing for meals/morning coffee, and the kitchen had everything we forgot to bring. Leslie supplies everything to make you feel at home. The only drawback we had was that the internet wasn’t really working. Other wise it’s the perfect location in wine country.

We had an excellent time in this place. Seneca Lake is beautiful and the location is perfect. The amenities served us well and the instructions from the owner were very helpful. I cannot recommend this location more for a small family vacation!

We absolutely loved this property. We especially loved the huge spacious dock and the amazing porch! There were condiments provided in the refrigerator which was nice. We were very close to Watkins Glen which was awesome! We went on some cool hikes and saw a lot of water falls.
