This house is a quiet recluse on the marsh and a tidal creek. It faces Sapelo Island and is close to St. Simons, Jekyll, and Savannah. Great for naturalists with a 1.5 acre fresh water pond for exotic birds and wildlife and near to the Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. We have 2 double kayaks, a canoe, 8 bikes, a hot tub and a sky for stargazing. The well-equipped kitchen opens to the great room with bedrooms on each wing. Pets welcome and plenty of parking. The kitchen and main living area is a great room in between the bedrooms. The master bedroom and bath is on one side of the house, and the other two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms are on the other side. All bedrooms have a good view. The two bedrooms with king size beds have doors that open onto the screened porch facing the marsh.

It was a buggy time of year but the patio was screened and it felt amazing to get shade and a breeze in the mornings and afternoons/nights. Everything was organized and self explanatory. Many amenities. He responses quickly and is an extremely nice person.
Our family of 4 had a nice and relaxing stay on the marsh at Don’s place. I highly recommend a visit if you want to get away from it all. We loved the hot tub and fireplace! We road bikes on the roads around the house and also enjoyed exploring nearby areas, including Harris Neck where I had the best fried shrimp I’ve ever eaten at the Old School Diner about 25 minutes away. We also went to the beach on SSI and had fun wondering around Brunswick and Darien. We even took time to checkout some of the history in the area, including the Sapelo Island Visitors Center nearby and Fort King George just down the road.
Marshbreeze is a magical getaway if you are looking for a space to relax and unwind. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen for homecooked meals, access to bikes and kayaks, the hot tub for morning and evening soaks, watching the marsh birds throughout the day, and walks around the property to enjoy the natural surroundings. Don and Susan's intentional effort to protect the habitat for the plants and wildlife was one of the many things that attracted us to stay. We were grateful for their proactive communication and respect of guest privacy. We highly recommend Marshbreeze for anyone that wants a coastal Georgia retreat to immerse themsevles in solitude and the unique beauty of the marsh ecosystem.
This place was a great getaway. The location is beautiful, quiet, peaceful & private. The home was as described and very clean as well as stocked with everything we needed. The porch & hot tub offered stunning views of the marsh, stars, & sunrise. The weather was nice so we were able to open up the doors & enjoy the breeze. Don provided very clear instructions for getting to the house as well as a manual that answered any questions we had. I would certainly return & highly recommend.
If you need a peaceful rest, look no more! My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend at Marsh Breeze. We didn’t want to leave! The privacy and beautiful scenery is just what we needed. We watched shooting stars at night in the hot tub. We’ll be back! Thanks Don and Susan for letting us enjoy your home.

The fresh water 1.5 acre pond is a big attraction. The birds go back and forth from the pond to the marsh. Because of foliage and distance, the only other house easily seen is the owners, which is 100 ft. away, and is only visible in the front of the house, not the part facing the marsh. The owners own the most of the land around the pond, which includes a walking trail.
