This is the second time we have stayed with Sherri & Brite. Their place is cozy and quiet. The location is fantastic for the St Augustine area. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating. Thank you for having us - we will always keep this spot in mind for camping near the beach!

We left with hundreds of dollars worth of damage and a police presence twice. We never used air bnb for a camp site before but had limited options due to a funeral being hosted during memorial day weekend. We booked the site and confirmed our intentions and reasons why we were staying. The owners told us to take our time leaving because no one would be coming in on the night of day two (our scheduled departure date). We were gone most of Saturday for the funeral, but before leaving the owner offered for us to extend our trip one day and asled us to pay cash. We thought it was odd but decided to take them up on the offer. While gone on day one to the funeral we left the AC fan running to keep air moving and keep the unit from building up with condensation to avoid it freezing over. The next morning we talked to the owner about extending our stay and he replied, and I quote, "my wife is concerned about your AC dripping on the pavers". Mind you, the entire space is pavers and all AC units have some water dispersement off of them, it's how they work. It seemed like an odd issue but I told them the AC is off while we are not present only the fan is on. Which in all honesty we don't need to turn it off, we paid for it but were being considerate. This conversation was odd and didn't sit well but we just accounted it as an off encounter. We assumed they did not like anything running while we were not present. They even asked if we were leaving our pet in the camper as reason for the AC being on while ww were gone. Fast forward to day 2. We spend all morning resting in the camper, we leave around 230 to meet family for the afternoon. We send a text to say we are going to bring their payment back with us after dinner. A shirt while later we get a text "I am unplugging your electric your camper is leaking you need to leave our property now". I replied explaining again that the AC is not on and for them to not touch our property. I assumed they were once again being concerned with the "AC" on. It seemed odd to tell us in a simultaneous sentence that pur camper was leaking and also ask us to leave while also saying they were unplugging it. None of those things have anything to do with each other. I asked that they call me three times and they refused. They never called me. Told me they were removing the electric and our camper is leaking everywhere. My husband and I rushed back to see what was happening to find water literally pouring out of our camper. Every inch of our floor, dinette set, cushions, curtains, sink and more were drenched. Puddles flowing down the driveway. This situation was devastating. The owners never called us. Never came outside to offer help. Rather they looked themselves in their house and insisted we leave. We began to pack up pur camper and that is when we noticed the valve our hose was attached to was no longer there and we were now attached directed to a different valve. After packing our things my husband went to talk to the owner and ask why this was. The owner said they went to see our "leaking AC" and noticed their valve was leaking. So they disconnected the hose, our hose, while we were gone and removed that valve. They then reattached the hose directly to their hose and turned the hose back on, thus creating a bulge of pressure causing our comfort valve to bust off of the sink. What this caused was full pressure of water coming through a garden hose straight into our camper. The owners continued to tell us over and over without us ever insinuating anything that they were not liable. Their actions, choices, and communication lead us to believe they realized the leak only started after they tampered with our hose. They should have meter touched the hose, or our camper. If they were never fixated on our AC being on whole we were gone, which we had every right to do if that was in fact what we were doing, then we would not have an entirely flooded camper. It's now passed midnight. We had to find a family to let us pop up in their driveway to properly clean out our camper and evaluate the damage. We dealt with police twice and very unkind and hostile hosts. Even the husband apologized to my husband to tell me Sherri, his wife, can be "volatile"...his words. Had they been upfront about the mistake it would have unfolded differently. But they chose to guard their guilt and responsibility in the damage caused to our camper- regardless if it was unintentionally done. They met us with animosity making this situation all the more devastating and difficult.

Cannot go wrong staying here. Fantastic hosts and wonderful location. We’re in a 28ft rig which just fit. Any larger than 32ft would be difficult.

This is a perfect little campsite tucked away right down the street from St. Augustine Beach. The hosts are the sweetest retirees with a beautiful yard and awesome setup. We were easily able to get settled in and spend our weekend at the beach. 10/10 recommend!
