Simple elegance in a primitive setting. It's a yurt, so say it was minimalist might be redundant. But the spare decor was high quality and luxurious. Needs are well anticipated. Ryan did a great job of keeping us informed. We spent many hours in front of the fire pit staring at the night sky. Scored both satellites and a long burst shooting star. Those and Orion are the extent of my astronomy, but there is a top end telescope available to those with the appropriate knowledge. Very convenient to both Big Ben National and Big Bend Branch State Parks. It was the highlight of our eclipse-centric 14 day road trip.

We had such a wonderful stay at this yurt and truly think it’s the best place to stay near big bend - pics cannot do justice to the breathtaking views of the desert, mountains and star-filled skies that we enjoyed from the deck. The inside of the yurt was beautifully decorated and so well-thought out with everything you would want/need to be comfortable; the only tiny things I’d add is just that it would be great if there was an extra towel (beyond the 2 bath towels) for drying hair, also would be great if the check in/yurt instructions explained where the Mitsubishi mini split’s control was. We were initially confused about which was yurt #2 (it’s not the second yurt in the row which is unnumbered but rather its further down from that and displays a #2), but airbnb messaging was quick with property manager to clarify; the cell phone number provided in airbnb check in guide wasn’t available (person texted back asking can I call you later) so maybe that needs to be updated.

We loved our stay in the yurt! It was beautifully clean with a super comfy bed/linens. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the mountains and attempted some late night stargazing. Would highly recommend staying! To be noted, it can be quite noisy at night when it is windy outside.
