Dune Lodge is an idyllic eco-friendly holiday home situated directly behind the beautiful sand dunes of Croyde Bay. A 5 minute stroll along the path through the sand dunes brings you to the golden sandy beach with its rockpools, wonderful surfing, swimming and, of course, sunbathing. From Dune Lodge in the other direction, a 5 minute stroll takes you to Croyde Village with its thatched cottages, vibrant pubs and restaurants, shops, Village Hall and access to the beach and the stunning walks beyond. Dune Lodge is at the end of a quiet and pretty cul-de-sac. Through the double entrance gates is the gravelled parking area for 2 cars. The sloping access to the front door is disabled friendly and well lit at night. Sleeping 6 people the Lodge comprises a spacious open plan living/dining room, kitchen, one double bedroom with en-suite, two twin bedrooms, family bathroom, airing cupboard and large conservatory. Each room has its own adjustable electric heater. LIVING IN STYLE Carpeted throughout, relax in the light and airy open-plan lounge and dining area with its high ceilings, comfortable and relaxing lounge furniture and dining table for 6. Adjust your comfort year round with the remote controlled ceiling fan and stylish wall mounted electric fire. The 49" flat screen TV is equipped with essential channels and complements the DVD, books and games which are provided. Enjoy meals at the extendable dining table, complete with six chairs, or eat 'al fresco' at the picnic tables in the garden. A high chair is available for your added convenience. CULINARY DELIGHTS The fully fitted kitchen features a large integrated fridge/freezer, ceramic hob, dishwasher and washing machine (for which the tablets are provided). Other amenities include an oven, grill, kettle, microwave oven, toaster, cafetiere and all the essential kitchen and dining utensils and crockery. BEDROOMS All bedrooms have built in wardrobes with full length mirrors. Bedroom 1: Master double bedroom with large comfortable bed, bedside tables with lights, chest of drawers, TV with DVD player and DAB digital radio. En suite shower room. Bedroom 2: Twin beds, bedside table and light. Bedroom 3: Twin beds, bedside table and light. A travel cot can be provided for your convenience (cot bedding to be provided by guest). BATHROOMS The en-suite shower room for the Master bedroom enjoys a walk-in shower cubicle, basin, WC and heated towel rail. The family bathroom has bath with shower over, basin, WC and heated towel rail. AIRING CUPBOARD Shelves for airing clothes. Hot water cylinder. CONSERVATORY French doors from the lounge lead into a large south-west facing conservatory with comfortable seating for 6, perfect for enjoying an evening drink while you watch the sun go down, playing cards and games, reading or just enjoying the warmth of the sun whilst remaining shaded by the opaque roof. GARDEN From the conservatory, a few steps take you down to the garden which is laid mainly to lawn with flower beds, an arbor, BBQ, picnic table and rotary washing line. A luxurious outdoor hot shower makes cleaning the sand off both boards and bodies a real pleasure after a day on the beach. There is secure storage space for garden chairs, surf boards and beach things under the Lodge. The garden wraps around the house on three sides, meeting the gravelled parking area at the front, and is fully enclosed with lawns for playing games or stretching out on the zero gravity garden recliners. The two-seater arbor is lovely for shade on hot days or just relaxing and the two 6-seater garden bench tables give plenty of space for al fresco eating and BBQs. OUTDOORS From Dune Lodge a five minute stroll along a sandy path leads you to a large open field perfect for exercising dogs and children alike, a small children's play area and then through the sand dunes, over the stream and onto the beach with its golden sands, rockpools and top class surfing. Five minutes stroll in the other direction leads you into Croyde Village with its popular thatched pubs, restaurants, ice cream parlour (clotted cream on top?), shops, village hall and access to the beach and the stunning walks beyond. There are lots of things to do in and around Croyde - exploring the coast, a visit to Lundy Island, birdwatching, horseback riding, coasteering, surf school, fishing, Exmoor National Park, Exmoor Zoo Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, walking the South West coast path and much more. All set within the beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty inside the UNESCO North Devon Biosphere Reserve. Two and a half miles away is the famous Saunton Golf Club with its two championship links courses set behind the wildflower rich Site of Special Scientific Interest which is Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in England which backs the 3 mile golden sands of Saunton Beach. DOGS Well behaved dogs are very welcome at Dune Lodge between 15* September and 15* June. Croyde beach is closed to dogs from 30** April until 1" October. Saunton Beach is open all year. OPTIONAL EXTRAS The charge for dogs is GBP40 per dog per week/short stay. Maximum of 2 dogs. Bath towels are charged at £5 per towel
The most perfect location for croyde beach. the hot shower outside was perfect. very spacious. having 2 bathrooms was great. kitchen had everything you need to cook.
Great location, short walk to the beach and easy walking distance to Croyde with good restaurants and pubs. The cabin is remarkably spacious with a nice secluded garden. The hot shower outside was great for when getting back from the beach and changing out of wetsuits. Having 2 bathrooms was a big plus too.
