What a wonderful stay! Marieanne’s place was spotlessly clean with loads of lovely touches such as gingerbread and Bakewell tart. There was a booklet through of tips and recommendations for walks etc and the beds were really comfortable! We did some wonderful hiking and loved the area! Would definitely recommend.

We chose this location as our first visit to the Peak District. It was central, had walks from the door, pubs and shops nearby. Although rural we could access faster roads to visit other destinations.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in Marieanne’s cottage and only wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was perfect, from the communication before our arrival to the spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished accommodation. The house had everything we could have wanted and much more besides. Our dogs had the best time snoozing in front of the log burner after long walks during the day. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return very soon. Thank you Marieanne.

Marianne left lots of thoughtful welcome gifts and the place is nicely furnished. I made a mistake with the booking. I had not read all the details properly on the listing. Although it is listed as allowing dogs, it is not suitable for dogs. The cottage is very small with quite a few ornaments that are glass and items of furniture that look like antiques. I was very worried about my dogs knocking something over or jumping on the leather sofas. I moved everything out of reach that I could. One of my dogs sleeps in a fairly large crate which we brought with us, but it made the kitchen very cramped. Both gardens are small and concrete. I also hadn't realised that the listing said no dogs upstairs, which was difficult as one of my dogs sleeps downstairs happily if there is a door at the bottom of the stairs - but there wasn't - just a small wooden board which could easily be jumped. This made our stay stressful as we had to be vigilant. If you don't have dogs it's ideal.

Marieanne was a very helpful host. The cottage was warm and cosy and very well equipped and the location was quiet but within easy access of lovely local facilities. The welcome basket was a lovely touch as well.
