Le logement de Mary est idéalement situé pour faire des excursions dans la région du Cape Breton. Le logement est très agréable et bien équipé. Mais le vrai plus, c'est Mary elle même avec sa gentillesse, sa générosité et ses récits très intéressants. C'est grâce à elle et son ami Dave que nous avons passé un magnifique séjour.
We had a very nice stay at Mary's. She has a charming house, in which we felt at home and welcome. It was clean, quiet and peaceful. We had a lot of private space. A tasty full breakfast was provided, with homemade/homegrown products. Mary is caring and helpul. We really enjoyed our morning chats with her. We would a 100% come back.
Mary was a great host, we enjoyed meeting her and hearing the stories she related. We appreciated the healthy breakfast including some home grown items. The room was good with a dedicated bathroom. Access directly from the outside meant we could come and go as we pleased. We enjoyed both Cape Breton and Mary's warm hospitality.
We had such a lovely, three night stay with Mary! The room and attached ensuite were spacious, very clean and comfortable. The location is serene, quiet and beautiful. We found it to be a good location to drive to various locations situated on the west side of the island-Mabou, Inverness, Whycocomaugh. The highlight of the stay was Mary herself. We had such wonderful visits at breakfast with her. She is a remarkable lady and certainly made us feel at home. She took such good care of us! We truly hope we will be able to return someday!
We had a lovely stay with Mary. It was central for visiting places such as Baddeck and driving through the Margaree Valley. And less than 30 minutes over to Mabou on the west coast. Our accommodations were spotless and the bed was comfortable. We liked having a space to sit and enjoyed hanging out there when the weather didn't cooperate. Mary is a lovely person and we really enjoyed sitting around her kitchen after breakfast chatting.

Quiet country living, spending as much time as I can outdoors, that's me. I love music, dancing, reading, gardening and dabbling with paint. My dog and I share the house with three cats. I grow enough vegetables to last most of the year. In 2018, I got a new tractor, a sub compact they call it, but more than enough to take care of all the tilling and mowing. This year, I did the tilling for the first time, that made me feel much taller than my five foot two inches! I find beauty everywhere, and Mother Nature has an endless supply beautiful surprises. Retired from a career as First Officer on the Newfoundland Ferry.(runs between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland) and I still really miss the ocean. There is a connection there for sure. I love to travel. Most recent trip was to Thailand and Cambodia. Wonderful people. Peru was amazing too and I can't forget my home away from home, Antigua. I like to travel light, it was a learned experience, and it is amazing what you can do without. Or how many days you can wear the same shirt, just washing it every night and happily wearing it again so there is so much less to carry and look after. I love to walk in the woods here on my place, and spend time along the brook which runs under some huge Maple and Yellow Birch trees. The water is always so cold! Even in really hot weather. You can only keep your feet in for a minute! There is evidence of the location of the first house built on this property and since this one is over 125 years old, things much have been very different then. A labyrinth is in the process. Imagine walking one in a quiet clearing, surrounded by trees, next to the brook. I will be awesome! Lots of good energy happening there! Things are pretty casual in my house. Clean, Quiet. You can come and go as you please through your own entrance,I am here to answer questions or give you a tour of the place or just you can sit back and take in all that peace and quiet.
