The Treetop Bungalow is set in a lush patch of forest on the edge of a steep slope. It is very shady. This is great for keeping the place cool, but also means it gets very little sunlight. At the end of the wet season, when we stayed here, it was quite musty and damp feeling. The place is quirky but starting to get run down. There are no fans in the main room, and the one in the attic is too strong for practical use. There is also no mosquito net for the main bed and many of the fly screens have holes. We didn't see many mosquitoes, but it's the sort of damp place that I would suspect they can occur. Really, as others have written, it is the extremely hard-working, good-hearted and friendly host - Dory - who makes this place shine. That, and the local evening food stall and Mango Pizza further down Pango Rd, and Honeymoon Beach which is a 10-min bus trip away and which is beautiful above and below the surface.

As many people comments, Dori is excellent! She is one of the best person we met in Vanuatu. She is super nice, friendly, and full of hospitality. I really enjoyed talking with her. When we had a trouble with a taxi driver, she kindly solved the problem. If we have a chance to come to Vanuatu again, I'm sure we'll stay here again!!

Dory est une hôtesse adorable, aux petits soins et accueillante. Le petit déjeuner proposé est complet et très bon : viennoiseries et pain frais. Nous y avons séjourné 3 nuits ce qui est très bien pour ce logement. Attention, la chambre à l’étage n’est pas adaptée aux jeunes enfants mais très bien pour les adultes.

We were looked after beauty fully by Dory who went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Despite showing its age the bungalow was a unique and charming base to explore Port Vila. The views were amazing.
