Located in the Azores, on the north coast of the island of São Miguel, Pico do Refúgio is a place that dates the beginning of the XVII century. During the past three hundred years served it many different purposes, among these, fortress for militias, artist residence, orange tree plantations and tea factory. Now the doors open as Pico do Refúgio – Country Houses, a place where the harmony between Nature, History, Art and the Ocean can be enjoyed. CASA DOS TAMBORES (98m², 1 king-size bed or twin + 2 single beds) Loft of great proportions, with two wide divisions: One with more than 6 meters of ceiling height, where the bedroom was placed on a mezzanine. There’s a king-size bed, convertible into 2 single beds. In this division there are 2 more single beds and a bathroom with shower. In the second space, there's an equipped kitchenette open to the dining room and a living room with TV, WiFi and fireplace. Both rooms have direct access to the garden. In the building of the former tea factory “Ataíde”, in addition to the Lounge (Reception), there are 2 Lofts and 3 Suites. About 800 meters away, at the top of the hill (pico) and next to the family's main house, there are 2 more Lofts. Breakfast is included and is available between 9:00 and 10:00am. In the Lounge there are telephone services, wireless internet and a meeting room. In the various houses, pieces by various artists are on display.
