Lovely clean, comfortable and warm cottage. Fully equipped with everything you could need. Peaceful location, ideal for exploring the Lake District. Highly recommend.

We had a warm and enjoyable stay at the Hen House. The place is compact but has everything you need. Perfect for our small family during the Kendal Mountain Festival. There is lots of good things about this place. There are some areas that need a bit of TLC to make stay more comfortable. Jade was very quick to respond and offered sort out some problems. A lovely welcome with prosecco and eggs fresh from the chicken coop. Overall would recommend as a great place to use as a base to explore the Lakes.

We spend 3 nights as a family with 2 young children at Jade's place. First the positives: Great location, very peaceful, amazing night sky. The space is compact but arranged nicely with (almost) everything you would need. Easy to keep the place warm and cosy. However, we encountered issues that meant our stay was not as agreeable as it could have been: To start with, we were asked for a surcharge to get a travel cot, despite it being listed as provided in the listing (which feels a bit like false advertisement). Secondly, we struggled to find the place (no proper instructions, and the GPS coordinates lead to somewhere else). But mainly, we found that the bedrooms floor was really not as clean as it should have been, with a lot a dust under beds, which was aggravated by the fact that there was no hoover at disposition in the cottage and that it took 48 hours to get one provided due to communication issues. So sleeping for 2 nights in dusty bedrooms spoiled a bit the positives ...

a great place, with everything you need. a drive to most local things but our stance was we would be driving to our activities so this was not a bother

Lovely bijou cottage , clean & comfortable, goodies left were much appreciated, great base to explore the Lake District with our dogs, the paddock was a nice extra for exercising them in the morning & evening host friendly & helpful, would highly recommend
