I would have been quite satisfied with Rick's place if not for the fact that my wife was severely bitten by some sort of bug every night while sleeping. Large itchy spots appeared on her ankles, legs, back, arm, chest and face. These were not mosquito bites (we saw a few and had a few) or sand flies as Rick suggested - we have stayed in PR multiple times and regularly take beach vacations. After 2 nights of being attacked I reached out to Airbnb for help finding another place to stay and they would not help us at all unless we showed pictures of blood stains or identified bed bugs ourselves. The bites were so bad (50+) that I needed to buy new tickets home and cancel our stay - the first time I have ever cut a vacation short. After 8 years of using Airbnb I was shocked to receive excuse after excuse and no help in finding us a safe place to sleep. Besides the bugs the apartment looked clean bright and spacious. Major beach erosion locally and dangerous access, cold pool.

Rick’s place is very nice, responsive via communications and the place is definitely peaceful. The neighborhood isn’t loud. We did not walk around or venture off since there isn’t too much to do in the area! Still very nice and not far from San Juan ~30 minutes. The apartment is nice. It is not directly in front of the beach, but has access! The pool is a lot nicer than the photos show so that was a plus! You must bring your own paper towels and toilet paper if you want more than a roll for your stay! We had some difficulties with the tv remotes, one didn’t have batteries and the other is just old. the buttons were not responsive about 1/2 the time, but again we weren’t there to watch tv, so we just dealt with it. The door to the actual apartment was a little tricky to get into at first (make sure you also hold the door to lock it on the keypad) and we had difficulties getting into the place at first. Once the guards get to know you though they let you come in no problem!

we had an amazing stay ,the place was lovely, the neighbors were extremely friendly, everything was clean and tidy and our host was attentive and super helpful, I would definitely recommend and stay again. wonderful experience
