Lovingly restored in 2017, the property preserves its vintage Azorean character dating from the 19th century orange era and includes a traditional villa lodge and one acre of fruit orchards with neighborhood walks among ever-so-green fields, beautiful sunsets over the mountains and starry nights.

Minuvida Orchard Lodge is a peaceful and unique oasis in São Miguel, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature to the fullest. A special thanks goes to Louis who welcomed us so warmly and helped us booking a wonderful dinner at Quinta dos Sabores and a whale watching tour (with breakfast to go!). Every little detail in the quinta stresses how much care and respect of nature there is, which is something rare and much appreciated! And all the guides with tips and must go places definitely made our days in the island unforgettable! Thank you so much for having us!
Rimi and João were the consummate hosts. Everything about our experience at Minuvida had perfect personal and homey touches. It felt incredible to wake up in the morning to the feel of lava stone under our feet, surrounded by lush greenery and looking out on the pool, then to eat a fresh breakfast with fruit picked right from the orchard. We were lucky enough to join for their 5 course Friday night tasting menu, and WOW! It was truly one of the best meals that we had on the island. I'm still dreaming about that tuna steak. João is an amazing chef and Rimi was incredible at guiding us through a true experience of the meal. We loved being greeted by their super cute pups and cats, and Minuvuda is perfectly located to get to all parts of the São Miguel. We can't wait to return!
Expect a very relaxing and welcoming stay and get ready for a nice slow pace of life!
Rimi's place is exactly as described. The private pool suite was a great choice for us and we especially loved getting to know Rimi and her story of how she came to Sao Miguel. The orchard grows many fruits, vegetables, and spices and if you are there on a Friday night, you MUST book the Minuvida dinner. Rimi's husband is an excellent chef and gave us the best dinner we had during our time on the island. He even accommodated my wife's vegetarian request to perfection. The daily breakfast is top notch (local cheese, breads, fruits, yogurts, etc...). While we did not get to participate in Rimi's yoga class, we hope to do so in the future during our next trip to the island and to Minuvida. This is more of a true "bed and breakfast" type experience where you learn much about local culture and get to know the Azores and Sao Miguel in a more intimate way. We will be back!!

Rabo de Peixe is a traditional fishing village on the island, rich in culture and diversity.
We are centrally located in Rabo de Peixe, about 15 minutes drive from the airport, 10 from downtown Ponta Delgada, and 25 from Furnas. However, we are in a rural location with fewer walking distance options for shopping and food. There are excellent restaurants within a 5km radius.
The neighborhood features many "canadas" or small alleyways amidst fruit orchards that are perfect for walking, running or biking and free from traffic.
Renting a car is your best bet for getting around no matter where you are staying on the island. From quinta minuvida with a car, you can reach most spots within a 10- to 15-minute drive; sometimes up for 30 or 45 minutes. Taxis cost around 12-15 euros to downtown and 15-20 to the airport. Buses are also available.

I always aim for success. I am Indian after all. To my parents the only career options were “doctor, lawyer, or engineer.” So, I graduated magna cum laude in engineering from an ivy-league university, worked on Wall Street, and at age 26 became a manager for a multi-billion-dollar company. I earned an MBA at one of the top three business schools in the country. It was during the business school application process that I did some serious soul-searching to answer a simple essay question: "What is most important to you and why?" After writing and rewriting this essay about a dozen times I realized: Most important to me is helping people foster deeper connections with themselves and their world. I obtained my yoga teaching certification and started teaching Forrest Yoga. I was helping people connect. A seed had been planted. And then I met João. “You’re from where?” I realized that for me, being successful wasn’t just about status or wealth, or things I could acquire. To feel truly successful, I needed to be living my purpose, every day, and not just through my hobbies. I often look back on that essay question, especially during those “holy @!!?” moments when things are hard and I think about what I gave up. But here, in the middle of the Atlantic, I am helping people connect. And what I’ve gained? Well, it’s simply priceless.
