The house is spacious, quiet and a short drive to everywhere. We love the eco philosophy. Paul was proactive with instructions. We just weren’t prepared for the number of mosquitoes - 30 in our baby’s room the first night and 20 in the sitting room. We tried keeping the windows shut all the time but the house is extremely well insulated and our room around 27 degrees at night as a result, making it hard to sleep. Paul kindly lent us a fan and candle, so we were able to try and protect the baby, but that still left the other bedrooms and living room, so we all and unfortunately the baby still got bitten, even with deet, and with the monkey sanctuary next door that was the last thing we wanted. There are plug ins in the bedrooms but for whatever reason they didn’t seem to help at all. We’d like to come back one day but we’d have to either check there are strong fans for the rooms or bring our own, the evenings were a bit stressful.
Our guys enjoyed their stay, would recommend this to family and friends. Also would book again if we where working over in the IOW again. Great hosts, lovely accommodation felt like home what more could you ask for.
The rooms are large, spacious and tidy and the property is supplied with all the cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery etc. which one needs if you are self-catering. It is also well suited to someone with mobility issues. Location wise, the property is very conveniently placed with quick access to the ferry terminals and, of course, the many attractions on the Isle of Wight. Overall, I am happy to recommend this property.
Really lovely place. Spotlessly clean, really nice and modern, and perfect for our family. If you have young kids you might want to bring door stops (my toddlers each got their fingets caught in the doors and the doors dont stay open and closed on them!) but aside from that it is a grest place for a family. Ny kids adored seeing the horses, sheep and geese every day, and the playground was perfect. Really happy with the stay and hope to be back!
