A perfect place for a family stay, lots of room, lots of dishes, nicely decorated and clean. Betti is downstairs and very attentive to her guests. Well located for visiting a host of famed Tuscan towns and then return to a safe and quiet countryside home. A lovely terrace on which to have a glass of chianti and watch the sun go down.

Gigliola’s apartments were just perfect for me and my group of girlfriends and partners. There are two spacious apartments both with lovely terrace areas. Our friend was getting married at the local abbey and they were staying in Villa Podernovo where the reception was being held which was only a 10 minute walk from the air bnb. We hired both apartments as there were 7 of us. The couples took the downstairs (first floor apartment) and the single ladies went upstairs, but if you leave the doors unlocked you can travel between the two apartments which we did most of the time, obviously there is an option to kept them locked as well. I cannot fault the cleanliness of the apartments it smelt of bleach when we first came in which I love because you know it has been thoroughly polished. There were plenty of towels, glassware and cutlery to use. There is a shop near by 5 minute walk which was handy for water and breakfast in the mornings shuts at 12.30pm and then reopens again in the evening. Plenty of parking on site we fit 3 cars out the front easily. Our favourite apartment was the top one which is smaller for sleeping arrangements, but there was still a double sofa bed, a single bed and a double bed. It is the one that has the blue interior, the terrace for this apartment was gorgeous and our main bed was really comfortable. Gigliola was so kind, she let us just get on with our activities, but attentively showed my friends around the whole apartment first thing when they arrived. She also baked us two yummy Italian cakes which was very thoughtful of her. There is a language barrier so at the end of the holdiay we just exchanged a thank you in a written translation. In terms of adaptors for appliances (hair dryers phone charger etc.) because it is such an old little village you need your EU adaptor but also there is an additional weird like 3 prong adaptor you need too. We mostly just unplugged the kitchen appliances and lights and placed our phone chargers in these so we could use them. I did end up buying a 3 prong adaptor from the local shop, because 6 girls trying to get ready with 2 adaptors was a struggle haha, so I recommend you buy one of these from the shop when you arrive if you have a big group. We had a lovely stay in Monticiano . We received a very warm welcome and our host had baked a lovely traditional almond tart. . She also shared her delicious Tirimisu recipe with me.It is a very Charming little village with a few amazing places to have piazza and pasta. The apartment very spacious with lovely Italian old world charm and gorgeous views from the terrace. Beautiful antique furniture and an abundance of kitchen cookware and crockery should you choose to stay in and cook. There is a Coop supermarket walking distance from the Villa. But take note of the trading hours they close most days at 1pm. The beds were very comfortable with pristine linen sheets. The whole apartment is immaculately clean. We highly recommend you book this villa its very spacious and can accomodate eight people very comfortable as there are two bathrooms one with a full bath.
