This is the second time we have been lucky enough to stay at Well yard, great host of a idyllic cottage in a lovely peaceful location no hesitation booking a second time . Highly recommend the community run spotted cow pub and cafe almost next door! Plenty of other options of things to do and places to eat in the area.

We enjoyed a long weekend in Abigail’s cottage. There is plenty to see in the area and Abigail was very helpful with recommendations. We were two adults, a toddler and a dog and the cottage felt cosy but think it would have been a bit of a squash with older children. The heating system worked perfectly and Abigail made sure it was on for when we arrived which was lovely. The kitchen was very basic in terms of equipment (we had to borrow a tin opener from a neighbour, there’s no grater and only three mugs) so if you want fully self-catered then you may need to bring some things from home. However, there are all the appliances you need for cooking and all worked well. The cottage is in need of a bit of ‘doing up’ in places but the bathroom was nice and the shower was hot. We had a great time visiting The Heights of Abraham, the Monsal Trail and Kedleston Hall. The first two were particularly good following the wet weather we have had as they weren’t too muddy.
