The lake is also well known by fisherman for its plentiful large mouth bass, blue gill and crappie. You're also welcome to bring your boat and there's plenty of room to park your trailer. Wake boarding, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and sailing are just a few of the fun water sports you can enjoy on the lake. Kids love jumping off the dock and playing in the sandy shallows. We've loaded our white sandy beach with Adirondack chairs for you to move around to find that perfect spot to wiggle your toes in the sand or snuggle in close to a beach bon fire to roast marsh mellows under the stars. You'll be about 15 minutes from Publix Supermarket, WalMart, Sams Club, Earth Fare, Sportsmans Warehouse, and every other national retailer you could think of, so don't sweat it if you forget something. And there's WiFi here to help you can stay connected. Disney, Universal and the other Orlando attractions are about an hour and a half drive from the Lake Weir Getaway. The Ocala National Forest boundary is 10 minutes away. The Atlantic Ocean and Gulf coast are each about an hour and a half drive and offer tons of things to see and places to visit. Explore historic St. Augustine. Swim with the manatees at Crystal River. Kayak and snorkel down crystal clear Rainbow River. Mountain bike on the Santos Trail. Fish for world class tarpon, redfish and trout. Or get unplugged and just relax! This is a duplex and we live next door, so if you're looking for a party house or place for a large family reunion, The Lake Weir Getaway probably isn't for you. A maximum of 7 guests are allowed on the property and there's enough room to park three vehicles.
