Beautiful historic house with sunny terrace+veranda with stunning view over valley, nicely decorated ground floor with open kitchen+living room with stove, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. In the tower, there is the 3rd bedroom. Located at Hameau les Bernardies (pool, playground, animals, Wifi), a historic hamlet in a park setting, really unique! During school holidays, Les Bernardies is a family oriented place. Off-season, it is quiet and peaceful. Excellent location to visit Perigord Noir/Lot/Correze. Lou Goratse has a large living room with dining table, woodstove and open kitchen, nicely decorated. Kitchen has a fridge, stove, oven, and dishwasher and is well equipped. At the same floor is the master bedroom (one double bed), the 2nd bedroom (two single beds) and a bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. The stairs lead to the 3rd bedroom (two single beds) in the tower, as well as a small mezzanine area with a small childrens' play corner. The house has a large private and sunny terrace and veranda with sitting area. The view from the terrace over the valley is stunning. There is a stone BBQ on the terrace.

Au milieu du Périgord noir et de ses trésors (à 20 min de Sarlat), le logement en vieilles pierres est au calme, dans la nature, avec une jolie vue sur la forêt en contrebas. Les enfants ont adoré aller voir ou s'occuper des animaux (ânes, lapins, chevres, cochons d'inde, chats et chiens). C'est charmant mais rustique (pas de micro-onde, de TV, de lave-vaisselle) et la salle de bain est très petite. Pleins de livres sont à notre disposition ainsi que du pain frais le matin. L'accueil et la disponibilité de l'hôtesse sont super.
Une adresse à sélectionner sans hésitation. La situation est exceptionnelle. L'accueil très chaleureux et simple. Nous avons vraiment passé un bon moment !
Great location, warm welcome, and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. As much or as little interaction with other residents as you desire, fresh baked products each morning if you wish and just a lovely environment. We will be back.
Séjour fantastique Le lieu est idéalement situé et vraiment très beau. On se sent bien dans ce « hameau » et on très bien accueillis ! Les enfants ont beaucoup aimé aussi. On reviendra!

PROS Central Spacious Thoughtfully decorated with love, throughout the entire huge property Charming Beautiful Inspiring Fresh bread and jam deliveries Animals that kept my kids happy intrigued Plethora of information and ideas Upbeat, hospitable hosts who love life Very clean, fresh and COMFY BEDS Nature GORGOEUS! Great for all occasions. Romantic honeymoon, wedding, family vacation or anything in between! So much to see, do, and be inspired by. Wood burning “fire place” Quiet!💕💕💕 Fantastic directions, easy to find CONS -Our stay wasn’t longer -WiFi was not in my actual rental, but a 3 min walk on a different part of the property

Very centrally located in the Perigord Noir and Lot: 15 min from Sarlat, 10 min from the river Dordogne, within a 30-min radius of the most famous castles / caves in the Dordogne/Lascaux, 1 hour from Cahors wine region (famous for its full red Malbec wines), 50 min from Rocamadoure/Padirac, 40 min from Collonges-la-Rouge/Brive.
It is one of the most beautiful and welcoming regions in France, well known for its unspoiled environment, a varying landscape with small-scale agriculture and beautiful forests, rivers and streams, famous castles, historic villages with nice marketplaces and well-tended gardens. It is really the ultimate holiday setting. And let's not forget its excellent/famous menu of regional specialities: truffles, mushrooms, foie gras, duck, venison, trout, strawberries, etc.
Coming by car: 20 min from A20 Highway Paris - Toulouse (exit 55 Souillac).
Coming by train: 15 min from Souillac train station (direct intercity train connections from Paris/Toulouse) and 15 min from Sarlat train station (Bordeaux).
Coming by plane: Brive-la-Gaillard is closest by (30 min, flights from Paris (Hop), and London Stansted (Ryanair)). Other airports close by are Bergerac (1.15 hrs, flights to UK, Netherlands), Limoges (1.50 hrs), Toulouse (1.50 hrs), and Bordeaux (2.10 hrs). All airports have car rental services.
