The Straw House is more than a house, it’s a work of art and a tribute to the work of environmental conscious construction. It’s extremely cozy, incredibly built, and the land is peaceful and pristine. We did not want to leave the fireplace! We put down our phones, read books, listened to the radio, made dinner and had wonderful conversation. Kristi is a kind and gracious host, and we were very happy to meet her during check in, and then given courtesy and privacy for the rest of our stay. It’s a beautiful place and we highly recommend you give the Straw House a try! Liann and David

We had a lovely stay. The house was so warm and cozy and the property was so peaceful- we could see deer and coyote out the window. The kitchen was well equipped.

We loved our stay at Kristi's beautiful and unique home. We were absolutely charmed by the beauty and comfort of the natural building materials and the masonry stove. It was the perfect, cozy getaway up north. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking supplies we needed to make all our meals and we enjoyed Kristi's selections of tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and made with high quality linens. The primary bathroom was like a little oasis with a deep soaking tub and a rainshower shower that had a beautiful stone floor. There were lovely trails just outside that we enjoyed walking. We loved being in the cottage so much, playing games and reading that we didn't leave for more than a hike or a grocery run in nearby Northport (about a mile away). Kristi was an amazing host and made us feel right at home. 10/10 I would recommend booking this peaceful home. We hope to come back soon.
