Best vacation ever! We stayed here for two weeks for an extended family reunion. It is big enough to fit ten adults in their bedrooms or 20 people. It has two porches - one that looks out over the Kennebunk River and another whose view is a park with a beautiful garden dedicated to Barbara Bush. We lounged on both daily. Our family vacations in Maine yearly - different parts every year, and this year was Kennebunkport. We are now enchanted, and the Old River House is one of the reasons why. Decorated how a 200-year-old house should be - it is walkable to the three local beaches, restaurants, and restaurants. Location, location, location - this is the place! D. Scott was a great host. He met us at check-in and was available for all questions - including directions to a local grocery store! He even said goodbye! Highly recommended!

We had an incredible time at Scott and Cheryl’s place in Kennebunkport. We were a group of 12, and the house still felt so enormous and spacious! It was pristinely clean and the hosts made sure we had fresh flowers and snacks upon arrival. Scott was incredibly responsive to any of our needs and, as he lives next door, was always willing to pop over to fix something if we needed (for example the power went out one night and Scott helped us recalibrate the alarm system). The area is a lot of fun and the house is well stocked with puzzles in case of a rainy day. The kitchen has everything you may need to cook or serve a meal. The beach, as well as restaurants and night life are all walkable from the Old River House. We would definitely love to stay here again in the future!

Scott and Cheryl are outstanding hosts. The Old River House is an old, historic building in a spectacular location steps away from terrific restaurants, shops, stunning ocean views, and wide sandy beaches. While walking routes, beach visits, and shopping are all terrific, what stands out for our family (16 of us this year) is just sitting on the magnificent porch. We all did this for hours each day, gazing at the boats running up and down the Kennebunk River, enjoying the cool shaded comfort of the rocking chairs, listening to the chirping tree frogs at night, watching the kids play soccer in the park just across the street, chatting and catching up.

We had such a wonderful time! The house was in the perfect location within walking distance to anything we wanted to do and beautiful inside and out! Would book again and will recommend to others! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful.
