My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wished we had the time to stay longer. It is a peaceful retreat with great views. We went there looking for solitude and found it.

Beautiful private location in the Bainskloof reserve. The views around the cabin were majestic and the weather was good too considering the time of year. Suzanne and team at the Calabash Bush pub were amazing at getting us to and from the Cabin at our requested times. Which was quite important as we did not have a 4x4 and needed to check out on time to catch our international flight. The star gazing from the cabin at night was spectacular, we were lucky to have a clear night sky to experience this. Would definitely reccomend David's Cabin for a unique stay near Cape Town.

The listing is completely honest - the place is in a remote location, off the beaten track, and you'll struggle to get there with a small rental car. As we were forewarned we rented a big enough car, and the location was just perfect. It appeared daunting to reach it but the instructions were perfect and clear, and our questions were answered immediately. The home is perfect for a getaway - quiet, cozy, well designed, modern and comfortable, and all of that in serene calm and beautiful views. David was kind enough to offer to refund our booking when the surrounding area was burnt down, and finally made a generous reduction in the price to compensate for the somewhat moon-landscape feel. Overall a most enjoyable experience.
