What a Magnificent stay. We weren’t in touch with Lina directly as her phone was Stolen but co-host Suzanne was very communicative and helpful! Next Time we would leave our 2 Year Old at home (we couldn’t this Time) as the balcony has no high Safety fence but that was clear beforehand. We loved the stunning mountain views and wonderfully decorated interior. So relaxing. Well done Lina. Thank you for opening up your house to us.

Lina truly created something special here. Oomblik Cabin has so much love for detail, the interior is amazing and obviously the views are stunning. There’s no one around you, it’s so quiet and perfect to just hang around. There are games, books and binoculars in the reading corner which is really cool. If you want to get away from it all: here’s your place.

Oomblik is absolutely stunning! Exactly the peaceful environment that we needed for a 2 night getaway. Surprisingly the recent bush fire that had swept through the reserve only added to the natural beauty of the place. We felt like we were on another planet! The hot water is a struggle to work out and the ‘inverter’ electricity system has an annoying bleep/clicking that woke us at 6am every morning. Apart from that the beauty of the decor as well as the environment made up for a few small irritations. We stumbled upon the secret honesty bar while packing to leave… so we know for next time. I think the hikes are a secret too as there aren’t any signs or info anywhere about where to go.

It's important to note that at the end of January 2024 a huge fire devastated the reserve where the cabin is based. The vibe of the location is currently post-apocalyptic. A number of items listed in the cabin manual were missing - no drinking water provided, no wood-fired hot tub, no honesty bar, no hikes listed. For the price I also would have expected a welcome token: some rusks / a bottle of wine / some bread etc - there was a tiny carton of uht milk... Maintenance was due to doors; windows; taps; one of the sun loungers is broken. The pool was dirty and ants were a problem. Lina unfortunately did not communicate well. Based on the above I felt the cabin was not value for money, and not what I expected, and hence asked for a 50% refund. Lina gave me 22%, which I thought was both mean-spirited and short-sighted.
