Come and enjoy a break from the day to day by the beautiful Cornish coast in Gwithian. This lovely self contained one bed annex with fully equipped kitchen will give you everything you need for a lovely holiday. The Red River Inn pub is in walking distance and there is easy access to Gwithian beach where three miles of beautiful sandy beach awaits you and is only a short stroll down the road. Lots of lovely places to explore close by. Bus route on doorstep direct to St Ives. Coastguard’s Retreat is a lovely one bed studio with separate kitchen and loo. Purpose built as a let, there are three steps up to the front door with your own entrance and parking space out the front. Well equipped kitchen with microwave, oven and two ring hob, and all the pots and pans you’ll need to rustle up a lovely meal at the end of a day’s wandering along the beaches or mooching around the shops in St. Ives.

We had a nice welcome with cream tea and immediately felt like home, because the Studio is so cozy and comfy. If you are there on a Sunday don’t miss out the sunday roast at Red River Inn (but book a table before). It’s only a 15 min walk to one of the gorgeous beaches. Head down to Godrevy Point and walk further to Mutton Cove to see seals and the beautiful coastline. St Ives is also worth a visit. All the other sights are nearby with the car, too. Like Land’s End, St Michaels Mount and Porthcuno Beach. It was absolutely lovely here for the three nights. Would totally recommend. Bed is comfy, the shower big with good pressure and hot water. The kitchen is big enough for cooking. The only negative point is that the street is very loud in the morning after like 8am (but no worries at night it‘s really quiet). So it is a little bit hard to sleep in, but it’s worth waking up earlier with all the stunning sights to see around. Thanks Melanie for the stay.
Perfect stay, perfect quiet location, with a lovely shortish walk to the beautiful 3 mile beach. And easy located next to Hayle for shops/food, 20 mins from St Ives-which is stunning. Super sweet bnb, everything you need, cosy and the bed is so comfy! Melanie & her son were super helpful when I arrived and very welcoming. Definitely will come back here, thank you!

Cosy place with a great location. You can easily walk to Gwithian beach and access coastal paths from there. The place is comfortable, quiet and with everything you would need for a short stay. Host is very friendly and responsive. Would recommend!
Lovely cozy place, really close to some great beaches. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Gwithian is a wonderful village with a great local pub, the Red River Inn and lovely local cafes a short walk away. The Jam Pot ,Sunset Surf , The Rockpool / Lula and then the Hungry Horsebox right on the beach. Saturday morning yoga session on the beach followed by a free coffee.
There’s a beautiful nature reserve where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the birdsong and watch the sun set, or head across the dunes and walk along the beach, and watch the surfers at sunset.
We are only a couple of miles from Hayle where there is a Lidl, Asda, Marks and Spencers, and a Farm shop towards Connor Downs. There are a few lovely little shops to have a wander through. There’s a small farmers market on a Friday between 10 and 2pm at Foundary and one at Phillack Church selling lovely local produce, as well as the great Mr. Bs ice cream shops , you also have some great bakeries and pasty shops .
You’ll need a car if you want to explore Cornwall, but the beach is only 10-15 mins walk away leading you into wonderful coastal walks and meandering about the dunes and the local nature reserve. There is a bus stop opposite the house which will take you both to Hayle and through to St Ives, it is seasonal so check the timetable. Taxis are available from Hayle, as are takeaway delivery services!

I’m Mum to an amazing young man who loves to travel so the air bnb is a great distraction when hes away. I am a qualified animal behaviourist specialising in dogs ,and work part time as a dog trainer. I’ve had a family home in Hayle for the past 40 years and have now finally followed my dreams and have moved to Gwithian in Summer 2023. For those wishing to train with their dogs ,I am also offering a board and train service.
