The Farmer’s Barn contains four simple bedrooms (2 here on AirBnB), and a well-equipped kitchen, diner and lounge for guest use. It's a perfect spot for solo and budget conscious travellers looking to explore the Lake District. Situated above our vibrant café, each room has its own unique character. There is a large shared bathroom with bath and shower. Thoughtfully decorated with original art and crafts and vintage finds, the rooms are a stone's throw from our Stable Bar for food and drink Within the Barn there are two ensuite double rooms (only bookable with the pub online) and two singles, the latter bookable here on AirBnB. Our single rooms each have a basin, and they share a large bathroom with a tub and shower. All rooms share a corridor and external separate entrance. We also have a small, well-equipped kitchen (fridge, hob, microwave) complete with crockery made on site, and comfortable lounge / dining area which are exclusively for guest use.

Very clean and a good base for exploring the area. The pub downstairs is excellent and I enjoyed a couple of meals there and a few pints, friendly staff and locals. Plenty of space for a single traveller and lovely views from the room.
I booked a 3 night stay here in room 8 and is a great base for solo travellers looking to explore the Lake District. Pros: - Good value for money - Easy check in - Responsive host - Ideal location for a base to explore - Access to kitchen with basics such as tea and coffee which was incredibly ideal as well as facilities to prep food - Plenty of space for parking and amazing views surrounding - Fast and reliable Wi-Fi Cons - Room is above a pub so will hear noise from the pub at night, as well as other guests if they’re clattering around the kitchen at 11pm - Shower was hot two evenings but one night luke warm - Heating went off in my room and didn’t come back on again, I did let the host know and she said she’d turn it on but unfortunately it didn’t come back on again and the room was quite cold. Overall a positive experience and I would book again if I was in the area
Absolutely fantastic stay at The farmers arms! The apartment had everything I might need and the view from my room was gorgeous, really tranquil location. Pub also serves lovely food! Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Thanks very much!
I got Away from the stress and strain of my work life . the farmers Arms was perfect gave me a base to explore the lake district easy to find clean tidy the pub food was excellent can't praise them enough

The pub’s gardens and 6 acres of former farmland provide a beautiful and productive setting for the Listed building. They greatly enhance the environment we provide for our customers, our staff and – as importantly – the biodiversity of our locale. We have everything from a sunny 1960’s-era crazy-paved beer terrace at the road junction to shady streams and ancient hedgerows. These offer a huge array of habitats for us to grow food in and nurture native flora and fauna too, as well as to provide restful spaces for visitors to enjoy. We are committed to natural, chemical-free and regenerative approaches to land management, and in 2023 we commissioned an Ecological Survey to record the current biodiversity on site and inform our future management plans.
