Positioned on the second floor, this cottage offers you a beautiful view of foliage leading down to the beach, creating a sense of privacy. The cottage is quaint, but with its open floor plan and ocean-facing windows the space feels light and airy. The geometric decor in earth tones, wood, and brick gives this cottage an overall cozy, rustic feel. Watch a movie on the TV in the corner with the provided cable and a DVD/VCR. There is a desk to put your laptop for charging or checking email with the cottage's free WiFi. The kitchen is equipped with the basics for easy meals at home: an oven with stovetop, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The cute dining room table is perfect for two - come home after a long day at the beach to enjoy a simple meal and a glass of wine. For those intimate special times, quiet times, or family time, come stay here at the Cape Cod Cottages in Waldport - the beach will be there waiting for you! What's nearby: The Cape Cod Cottage community is a cluster of beach houses nestled along Big Stump Beach. Only a short drive to Waldport, Newport, and Yachats to the south, you are in driving distance of some of Oregon's loveliest coastal towns. Go clamming to make that perfect bowl of chowder at the end of the day, sand-castle artists of all levels can ply their art, whale watchers and sunset chasers are welcome, and you don't even have to leave your deck! Travel up north toward Newport and visit Seal Rock, or meander down south towards Yachats for a beautiful coastal day drive. While it is true that from the outside this place isn’t a looker, once inside it is indeed rustic and cozy. It feels like a late 70’s or 80’s Cabin. This didn’t bother me. I like that sort of thing. The fireplace is gas and there’s a small sign reminding you to open the flue before turning it on. The view from the balcony is great and feels like a private deck view of the ocean. The weather was mild this mid November and the space did stay pretty warm with the heaters and the fireplace. There was a bit of a draft coming in from the window panes and doors which didn’t effect the warmth. Perhaps it would in winter. You can hear cars passing on the street side and the ocean waves on the beach side. This may or may not bother you. Walk two units down to the short path to the beach. It was altogether exactly what I was looking for to meet my needs with a great ocean view. I will book again.
My partner and I enjoyed a great long weekend here- we couldn’t recommend it enough! The place was modest but had everything we needed. It was clean and very cozy. We really enjoyed the fireplace and the balcony views. The beach is just a one minute walk away and is rather private (clean and well maintained as well!). It was the perfect little place for a getaway.
very dated unit with a parking area that was full if mud and dirt. made it extremely difficult to not drag mud into the home. inside needs a renovation of plumbing and floors (looks like it was built in the 60's with the original linoleum floor). bathroom was nice, shower and tub not so much. had water buldling up oast my ankls by the end of the shower and it took the tub over an hour to fully drain. overall, beautiful location with a stunnin view and great beach access, but the home itself was not what I had hoped.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this stay to friends. It was kinda creepy, weird vibes, probably due to how outdated the place is. I didn’t find it very cozy or comfortable, so we really looked forward to leaving the next morning. Luckily the view was beautiful and the bed was comfy. You could tell the other suites were up to date (except for #6 & #7). The beach wasn’t the cleanest, had sand flees, a dead seal right up near the airbnb. After service fees this place really isn’t that worth it.
The Cape Cod Cottages were everything we hoped for. So cozy and so easy to walk to the beach from our front door. It’s a perfect place to stay with your dog. Cottage #7 seems to be the only one that hasn’t been updated, so keep that in mind. I think it could use a good deep cleaning. The photos in the listing make it seem much nicer than it is. All this to say, we would definitely stay here again. The beach and beautiful ocean views from the private balcony make it worth it. I would definitely recommend.
