June 1st - June 8th Sept 2nd - Sept 9th Stoneridge Acres - Sand Lake began as a small cottage and has been expanded on, fully updated and well maintained throughout the years. The front wing of the house has been recently renovated including the kitchen, dining room, entryway and powder room. The kitchen counters are granite and the appliances are stainless steel. All appliances are new and include a french door fridge with lower freezer, double wall oven, induction cooktop with vent hood, dishwasher and microwave. There is filtered water on the inside of the fridge door and the freezer has an ice maker. There is a plastic ice scoop provided for sanitary reasons and the ice box is cleaned and changed for each new round of guests. The bar is equipped with a wine/beer cooler, a cocktail set and there are lots of glass and plastic cups available as well as openers for both wine and beer bottles. The dining room has a large harvest table with a bench on one side and four chairs on the other. There is a table cloth and placemats available for use as well. The living room has an array of windows that allow you to look out over the beauty of Sand Lake. Enjoy relaxing on either the large comfy sectional or one of the two cozy papasan chairs taking in the stunning views or feeling the heat from the large wood stove on those chilly fall or winter days. Also in the living room is a smart tv with a dvd/blue ray player and the tv is hooked into the houses Wi-Fi. This space is perfect if you want to stream your favourite show or boycott technology all together and curl up and read a good book. The screened in porch has seating for four and a small table. The sconce light switch is located in the master bedroom. The vinyl windows slide up to the top allowing a clear view through the screen and a beautiful breeze off the lake. The main bathroom has a bathtub with shower curtain and there is a vanity sink with both storage below and on the wall. There are towel racks provided on the back of the door and on the wall. If you require further space to hang towels there is a drying rack located under the single bed in the upstairs bedroom. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, two nightstands with lights and an armoire for storage. The spare room has a double bed, two night stands with lights and a closet for storage. The room in the upstairs loft has two single beds, a light and a dresser for storage. The den in the upstairs loft has a double bed, a night stand with a light and desk with a rolling chair. All bedrooms are equipped with a ceiling or table fan and there is also a ceiling fan in the main living room. The height of the ceiling upstairs is under 6 feet in places as it is vaulted so please watch your head. All mattress pads, linens, pillows and duvets with covers are new this year. Linens and covers will be laundered and mattresses and duvets will be sprayed with a disinfectant between guests. The loft area has a small couch and two cedar chests, the white chest contains an array of board games, puzzles and playing cards and the other has blankets if you get chilly. (Inside use only) At the lower deck you will find a small picnic style table, large patio sectional with glass top table and 3-burner Weber BBQ. The waterfront is grass with a rip/rap style rock shoreline. The water depth is approximately 3.5 feet but it fluctuates as the canal rises and falls due to it being lock and dam controlled. The lake bed in front of the dock is not sandy and due to the property being in a sheltered back bay there are some aquatic weeds. The owner takes steps to control the weeds but is limited to certain Parks Canada regulations that dictate when the weeds can be cut. (July 1st) There is a stair case that flips down which allows for easy entry or exit into a canoe or kayak or an easy exit after a swim. Even with the depth and bottom quality it’s still a great spot to cool off or float in an inflatable but please no diving due to its limited depth. There is a jumping rock located 300 metres away (5min paddle) from the dock and has three separate levels. It’s a beautiful spot to swim but water shoes are recommended due to slippery rocks and the potential for sharp zebra muscle shells. Please jump safely and at your own risk. Included to use during your stay are two enclosed kayaks and a three person canoe. The paddles and all safety equipment are located in the boathouse. Please take one orange safety kit per boat and size each occupant in the boat with a PFD. There are whistles attached to every PFD and the flashlights in the safety kits are tested monthly. In the boathouse you will find the cushions for the chaise lounge chairs and also a set of Bocce balls and ladder golf game to use on the grass. Please return the cushions and games when you are finished using them. The lid for the fire pit is heavy so please use two people to lift it off (Do not use the lid to smother the fire as it will damage the the coating). The fire starting equipment and wood will be provided at check in and the owner will make you aware if a burn ban is in effect. Please make sure the fire is extinguished before you go to sleep and do not leave it unattended. There is a hose set up right beside the fire pit. The dock can accommodate up to a 25 foot boat but the draft has to be less than 3 feet. There is a boat launch 5 mins away and the host can assist with launching if needed. There is storage for your trailer that does not take up one of your two available parking spots.
