From the cottage you can enjoy a clear view of the dunes and lyme grass with the sound of the waves from the North Sea as music in the background. You only have to walk 100 meters to reach the beach where you cool down in the sea or enjoy the days sunbathing. The area is also suitable for pleasant walks. The cottage is located a short walk from the central Gl. Skagen, with Ruths Hotel and the Sunset Sqaure (Solnedgangspladsen), the Sanded Church (Den Tilsandede Kirke) and the Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisk Museum), which today is housed in the former Højen Station. At Højen Station summer guests of past times were picked up by horse-drawn carriages, and transported to their seaside resorts to enjoy their vacation – Ruths Hotel, Jeckels Hotel, Strandhotellet, etc. If you want to explore local attractions, there are plenty of options. Visit the center of Skagen with the many retail shops, artisan shops and exciting museums. Skagen’s Museum where you can experience the famous paintings by the great Skagen painters P.S. Krøyer, Anna Ancher, Michael Ancher, Holger Drachmann and many more is a must on your to-do list.
