ABOUT THE LOCATION Step outside and take a short 5 min walk to Esplanade Avenue, the "downriver" boundary between the French Quarter and the Faubourg Marigny. One of the quietest, most scenic and historic streets in New Orleans, Esplanade Avenue is a hidden treasure running through the heart of the city. From Esplanade Ave, take a right down North Rampart to explore Armstrong Park or continue on to Bourbon St to visit Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar. From Lafitte's, you'll be a quick 7 min walk to Jackson Square! Or if Bourbon isn't really your style, take Esplanade Ave down to Royal St and hang a left to find the myriad of music spots on Frenchmen Street. On the way, you can stop at the famous R Bar. With seasonal crawfish boils, a pool table, and reasonably priced drinks — oh, and a Monday night $10 shot and haircut combo — there’s always something going on around there Also within a few minutes' drive or less than 20 min stroll is the famous and sprawling French Market, the legendary beignets and coffee of the Cafe du Monde, the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral, and the paddle-wheeled riverboats along the Mississippi waterfront — not to mention more bars, restaurants, museums, curio shops, and art galleries than you could possibly ever visit in one trip. The dream-like settings of Audubon Park and City Park, with their massive moss-covered oaks and glorious mansions lining the nearby avenues, are a short drive away. Further afield, you have the deep Louisiana bayous full of gators and cajuns alike, plus historic battlefields and plantations to tour. You couldn’t possibly see and do everything New Orleans has to offer . . . but you can sure have fun trying! So grab a drink and start planning your trip now. Or come with no plan at all. Either way, having a great time in the Big Easy is, well, easy.
This place is beautiful and in walking distance to so many attractions like Frenchmen St/French Quarter. The house is well equipped and aesthetically appealing-beautifully decorated! We had everything we needed plus the host had coffee with condiments which was so nice. There were several extra touches provided and the place very clean. Our host were friendly and extremely responsive. It could be a little loud and sketchy at night so we didn’t walk in the dark but that’s expected in most cities. Would stay here again!
Gabriel and Cicely made our stay in New Orleans even better than we expected. You can tell how much effort and attention to detail went it their bnb. They were also super friendly, helpful, and recommended some activities and local spots that we would have simply missed out on. I will certainly be staying with them next time. Thanks again Cicely & Gabe
