Eastsound · 整套小木屋 · 1室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Patos House Beach Cottage
Take a break and unwind at this peaceful beachfront cottage. This one bedroom cottage is part of a quiet, historic, family-owned beach resort. The 100-acre property encompasses woods, pasture, and a beautiful private beach. Perfect for a solo getaway, or a romantic retreat. Sleeps up to 4 people. Pet friendly. This unit is located right on the water, and features a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with a tub/ shower, a queen bed, and a fire stove. The rental price is for two people (adults or children). It is possible to add a third and fourth person on the full sized pullout couch for an extra charge of $20 per person, per night. Well-behaved pets (two maximum) are welcome for an additional fee. Three night minimum stay (except summer: see below). Patos House is named for nearby Patos Island, visible to the north. The family can remember when the Coast Guardsmen would take the lifeboat from Patos Light and visit the Inn to eat meals in the Lodge. The Space The cottage is simply but comfortably furnished. (Note: furnishings may not be exactly as pictured, as we sometimes replace or update items for improved guest comfort!) The fire stove gives a cozy ambience on a chilly day, although an electric heat pump is the primary heat source. We are intentional about not having wifi and TV and hope their absence will foster a peaceful and relaxing "unplugged" getaway. Cell coverage is usually adequate in the cabin but may be spotty. The kitchen has a stove, compact fridge, microwave, coffee maker (with reusable filter) and electric kettle. It is stocked with basic cookware and dishes but has no food nor condiments. There is one full bathroom with a tub/ shower. We provide liquid castile soap for body and hair, tissues and toilet paper. Please bring your own toiletries, hair dryer, etc. All linens needed for your stay are provided. Extra towels, etc. are available in the supply area next to the office. Thank you for not using our house towels on the beach; please bring your own beach towels. A Weber charcoal BBQ is provided; you'll need to bring lighter fluid and briquettes. Free firewood is available on a "help yourself" basis from the woodshed. Please enjoy beach fires; just make sure you build them on the beach gravel, below the high tide mark, and never burn driftwood. There are beach chairs and a picnic table in front of your cottage designated for your use.
You may feel like you are in a remote place, after travelling down our 3/4 mile dirt driveway through cedar and Douglas fir forest. However, Eastbound village is only two miles away. Eastsound is the quaint hub of Orcas Island life, hosting numerous restaurants and boutique shops. There is an active performing arts center, and a beautiful library, along with a well-stocked grocery store, and a Co-op offering organic and locally grown foods. Yoga studios, art studios, artisan coffee shops, and pubs with stunning views of the water all conspire to make this town a truly delightful place to spend time.
A few miles away is Moran State Park, with miles of trails through old-growth forests, and an almost 360 degree view from the top of Mount Constitution (you can hike up, or drive up!). The park has two beautiful lakes for swimming in the summer. Turtleback Mountain is another gorgeous hiking area with open views over the neighboring islands.
Kayaking, whale-watching, and fishing are among some of the favorite activities on Orcas Island. Check out our Orcas Chamber of Commerce website for more info.
You must take a ferry from Anacortes to Orcas Island to get here. This is where your holiday starts: at the ferry terminal, before you board and begin wending your way through the beautiful pristine waters of the Salish Sea. You can also fly Kenmore Air or San Juan Airlines to Orcas Island from either Seattle (Boeing Field) or Bellingham. There is a shuttle from SeaTac airport or from Bellingham airport that takes you to the Anacortes ferry terminal (Bell-Air Shuttle).
Once on Orcas, you will need a car to get around. If you do not bring your own vehicle, there is a good tax service and a rental car company on the island. Some hardy souls like to bike; be aware that there are no bike-specific road-side trails, and only narrow shoulders on most of the roads.
自我介绍
North Beach Inn has been owned and operated by the Gibson family since 1932. Our family purchased the land back in 1911 as an apple orchard and farm. While we’ve been hosting guests since 1916, it wasn’t until 1932 that we completed many of our original cabins and officially opened as a resort. Members of the fourth and fifth generation of the family are still actively involved in preserving this historic property and we invite you to join us in experiencing this unique offering as members of our long term guest “family”. People looking for cable TV and hot tubs -- which we don't have -- might prefer the word "rustic" to describe our cottages. But they are for those of you looking for lodgings with warmth and character, and furnished with all the basic necessities and we hope that you will enjoy them as much as we do. Our cottages are dotted along one third of a mile of no bank, pebble and sand beach. With their spacing and wooded setting they offer a sense of privacy and solitude that's hard to find elsewhere. In fact, we pride ourselves on being the most private beach resort on Orcas Island, and one of the most private in the San Juans. We also have one of the nicest beaches on the islands, certainly with regard to the view. During the Spring and Summer you can see magnificent sunsets over the Canadian San Juans.
