The Annex is a charming Georgian coach house, beautifully converted and newly refurbished in 2023. Quietly situated overlooking the Manor House gardens, the Annex is self-contained with two bedrooms (1 double, 1 single), large sitting room, well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and a beautiful new bathroom with bath and Lefroy Brooks shower. The Annex has stripped and polished pine floors and is furnished with antiques, rugs, pictures and library. Gas central heating; dedicated wi-fi (no TV). The Annex has its own front door, which opens to a spacious hall. To the left are two bedrooms - a single with a single bed and a double with a double bed and garden view. To the right, a spacious sitting room with large sofa, armchair and a well-stocked bookcase. The kitchen has a pine table and chairs; there is high-quality Rangemaster electric cooker, with oven and hob, an under-counter fridge and the usual small electric appliances. The bathroom has been newly-fitted in summer 2023 and comprises a Bette steel bath, Lefroy Brooks overhead shower, loo and washbasin.

A great place to stay and unwind that is hosted friendly, helpful people. The annex is a beautiful old building that is very tastefully furnished. If you have the time, you could read excellent books from the shelves.
The Annex at The Manor House is a gem. Merriot is easy to get to and is has everything you need. Crewkere is nearby and has everything you want. Lots of interesting villages and towns are within easy reach. The Annex is private and with access to the grounds of The Manor we spent a morning right on our doorstep (Dan has some very interesting trees). We particularly liked having a varied library to choose from and, at the other end of the tech spectrum, good wifi. Dan was always easily contactable and unfailingly helpful, we had an issue with our car and he recommended a very good garage then helped with the logistics. The Annex is equiped to a high standard, everything is good quality and it is obvous that a regular programme of renovation and improvement is the modus operandi. Very happy to recommend Dan and The Annex in equal measure.

The Annex is attached to a Georgian Manor House which stands in eight acres of gardens and grounds in a beautiful part of south Somerset, on the Dorset borders. We are a couple of miles from the bustling market town of Crewkerne and surrounded by rolling countryside. There are charming villages, National Trust houses and some of the West Country's best pubs, including the renowned Lord Poulett Arms in Hinton St George, a few minutes away. The Jurassic Coast, with its beautiful sand and shingle beaches and cliff walks is 35-40 minutes' drive.
There is free, off-road parking, outside the Annex. The village is two miles from Crewkerne, which has a station with regular trains east towards Salisbury, Basingstoke and London Waterloo; and westwards towards Exeter.
